Soulmate AU! Uhm... I'll let you guys figure it out.
------
The red-head lays in bed as he thinks over the past few years. He remembers meeting the person who's supposed to be his soulmate, but she's blind. She was supposed to be badass, but she needs a cane to walk.
It's not like he's upset, no. He's pissed that the world screwed him-not him-her over. He can see her (h/c) locks and her perfect body, but she has no clue what he looks like. Supposedly you can tell how a person looks by touching their face, but how the hell does that work?! It makes no sense to him.
What the hell? And it's not like the most talented doctor-as much as he hates to admit it-Trafalgar, can fix it either. She's stuck being blind. Unless... nope. That's only a rumor. No one's actually done it; nobody ever had to before.
He sits back up, he promised to meet (Y/n) so that they could talk. So he leaves the house to go to the place they said to rendezvous. He stops once he sees her already standing there. He takes in the sight, he really wanted her to be able to see.
He wants her to be able to have the chance that everyone else in the whole fucking world has. If he made a wish on a star, would it actually work? He doubts it, he doubts it very much.
"What are you doing?" she asks him facing off into the distance. Her milky eyes trained on something in her imagination, probably what she thinks he looks like. "Aren't you a bit late?"
"I'm right on time," he mumbles before he takes her hand and they start to walk down the side walk. She grabs onto his arm because she loves the warmth it gives off.
"Sure you are," she laughs, knowing the she won't be able to prove him wrong that he's late. "I'll just have to believe you then."
"It's a must in this relationship," he looks at her, just in case one day he wakes up blind. "You have to believe everything I say. Even if I tell you that you're going to walk off a cliff in the middle of the town."
She shakes her head and snuggles deeper into his side, "Kid, I love you."
"I love you too," he mumbles under his breath, his face heating up because he started to speak without any thought.
"Thank you for everything," she sighs out and he looks at her confused. "I used to think that when my soulmate met me... they wouldn't be able to deal with me being blind. Actually, I used to think that I didn't even have a soulmate. So thanks for not deserting me..."
"Whatever," he takes her into a restaurant and they continue their date like that. They talked for hours on end, but it wasn't about what he wanted to talk about.
He walked her home that night and made sure that she made it inside before he walks home. He stops as he sees a shooting star, he sighs, knowing that he's being extremely childish, "I wish that I could give my eyes away to (Y/n). That way she can see everything that she wants to."
The next morning, he gets a phone call, so he picks up the phone without opening his eyes. It's all a blur, but he can hear the excitement in her voice. She's talking about how she can finally see.
"(Y/n). I need you to come over to my house."
"Alright..."
She makes it over to his home with extraordinary speed, she knocks on the door before entering to see him sitting at the kitchen table, "What's up Kid?"
"Come over here," he motions her to walk over to him and so she does. "I think I gave up my sight, so you can have yours, but I'm no-"
"Why would you do that?"
"So you could be happy. I've already seen everything I could ever dream about. I can still remember the way you look," he reaches out and touches her face. "I can see everything... your (h/c) strands... to your beautiful (s/c) skin... I don't know what color your eyes are... but I can only assume that they're beautiful as well... I don't need to see anything else (Y/n)."
"You're horrible," she feels tears streak across her cheeks. "You didn't even ask me for my opinion on it. How could you just go and do something like that? I didn't need to know how you look... or see sights... why would you give your vision up for me?"
"Because I wanted you to know what everything looked like... I want you to be able to take in what I did. I want you to tell me what you see. What do I look like to you?"
"You look like everything that I ever thought you would look like... Kid... I love you... but you didn't have to..."
"It's okay, I can already see what we'll be like in the future. (Y/n), marry me." he holds out a ring and she looks between that and him not sure what to make of it. "Put it on your finger. Give me your hand."
She does as he tells her and he slips it on, it's a perfect fit. "What's your answer?"
"Of course I'll marry you..."
"That's all you needed to say," he says as he pulls her into a kiss.
