Chapter 21 - The Zora Prince

Serah got up and dusted herself off. She felt like she was full of energy and she could go on for another few days without rest. She looked at Zelda and Fang. They were still sleeping.

Midna smiled. "Should we wake them?"

"Yeah. I guess so. Link still needs to find his friend and escort her. To do that, he needs to be in Hylian form right?"

Wolf Link howled as loud as he could. Fang's eyes sprung open and she breathed heavily with madness in her eyes. Unlike Fang, Zelda was waking up slowly, as though she was in her comfy bed in her castle.

Fang stood up and scowled at Wolf Link. "Damn it, Link, don't do that! I sense danger when I've been awakened by something loud."

Midna stared at her. "I think he gets it." She sat on Wolf Link and looked at Zelda then turned away. "We need to find Link's friend. And to get moving, we'll need to get Zelda up...So let's go."

"How will that help?"

"You'll see."

The others began to leave. Zelda was looking around the camp where the others had just left. She stood up. She knew where they were headed so she headed in that direction.

When she finally saw them, she ran. "Hey! Wait up!"

"Told you," Midna smiled.

"Hey. Why'd you leave me behind?"

"Because you weren't waking up and that was the only way."

Wolf Link looked around. Lake Hylia was at normal level and they could reach the spring. A cave in the cliff face was glowing regular light. That was it.

Wolf Link sprinted to the cave with the others trailing behind him. Inside the cave, the thing that was making the light glow, was the spirit. Its power was being used by the three monsters they now faced. The light within the bodies of the monsters were visible, beating like a heart.

Serah laughed. She stuck her hand out. "Fire!"

Fire burst from her hand and hit the monster's hearts that glowed with the light. Nothing happened. It wasn't affected.

Serah looked confused. "Water!"

Again, the same result.

She was becoming annoyed. "Thunder! Blizzard! Aero!"

Thunder struck them. Nothing. The blizzard froze them. Just a little, hardly with any effect. But the air pushed them back towards the spring. Something white flew at them from behind her and somebody pulled her and Wolf Link back. It was Fang.

The white magic hit the monster's causing an explosion which pushed them back into the water. Unfortunately, the monsters turned into one body and had begun to grow in size. Zelda came forward and took her light arrows out. The yellow arrow flew to the overgrown parasites. The blessed magic couldn't do anything.

Serah ran over to the edge. "Thunder!"

The bolts hit the parasites and electrocuted it. The same white magic flew towards the thing and she was pulled back again by Fang. The white magic exploded more violently than the time before. It did affect the beast but never killed it.

"I never knew I could do that," she heard Fang say.

"What?"

"The white magic. It's called Ruin. I didn't know I could do that."
