Chapter 31 - Ganondorf

Lightning stood next to Nero, staring at Hyrule Castle from the place where Link and Nero had first met. They stood on the rocks for a better look. The Castle looked as though nobody had been in there for a long time.

Dante walked up to them. “You want to know whether that demon is up there, don’t you?” Neither spoke. “Fine. I’ll go check.”

Dante ran to the other side of the rock to transform. His devil form stood there for a while before flying off into the air to the castle in the distance.

“Light,” Nero spoke. “Let’s go see how many people have arrived.”

She nodded and joined the others. She gasped. Nearly half the town was there. But what about the rest?

Vergil clicked his tongue. “Where are the rest?”

“They didn’t believe us,” Serah looked around. “They don’t understand the seriousness of the situation!”

“Wait a little longer, please,” an innocent voice spoke. A little boy, around the age of seven, approached Serah. “My father. He’s gone back to try and convince more people. Please wait. I won’t leave without my father!” The boy was about to burst into tears.

Serah sighed. “Alright. But there’s not a lot of time.”

Dante had come back and he ran up to Nero and Light. “Big problem. He’s not there. Nobody is in that castle. Where do you look for an orange haired dude when you need to kill him?”

“Who knows, Dante?” muttered Nero. “Keep your voice down. There are people here. They may leave, thinking that we may want to kill a civilian when we don’t.” Nero turned to face the people who had arrived. They were just standing around, waiting. Three people had arrived just then in cloaks. They joined the group and Nero eyed them suspiciously. He looked away when Fang nudged him. “Ah. Sorry. Get going you guys. No time at all.”

“Light, look,” Serah called. She was pointing at the gates of the entrance of the town.

Hylians were pouring out of the town. But it didn’t look like they were running to catch up. It looked like they were running away from something. Something gold was there. Lightning and Nero took their weapons out.

“You guys get ready to go!” yelled Light. “Come on, Nero!”

The two of them ran to the gold thing appearing behind the crowd of people. Other people kept coming in the way. Light slowed down as Nero sped ahead with people banged into him. She turned around. She could see some soldiers on the sides of the entire group of people with some people lying on the ground. They seemed to be hurt or affected by the gold thing on the eyes.

“That’s strange,” She ran to Nero who was looking at her, urging her to come quickly. “What?”

“Look at that. Is that seriously what they were running from?”

Light held her hand over her eyes as she faced the golden thing. “What is it? I can’t see it!”

“It’s a…what? You can’t see it?”

“No. It’s painful. What am I being blinded by?! Is that light?”

“Nope. You’re just struggling too much. Desperately, actually.”
