Chapter 20 - Snowpeak and the Mirror
Three figures stood watching Dante, Vergil, Lightning and Nero make their way towards Snowpeak. They saw the group of warriors fighting the monsters that had attacked them. They fought excellently.
"What should we do now?" asked the youngest figure.
"I guess we should keep watch," suggested another figure. The figure had placed a sword on his shoulder. "The others mentioned that we shouldn't leave them out of our sight. Ready?"
The last figure had reloaded a gun. "Locked and loaded."
The figure with the sword had done something and an image of three other people had appeared. The figures in the image were laughing at the one on the ground. One of the figures nodded at the image and continued on with what they needed to do after laughing at the man.
Snowpeak was a cold province with a difficult entrance to go through. A blizzard had caused snow to be thrown in their faces. They met a yeti called Yeto who knew where the other shard was. He had told them that he had found it in the snow, lying there and he had taken it back to his home. Since then, his wife had been feeling ill and agreed to let them take the mirror away.
"You slide to Yeto's home?"
"How?" asked Dante. "I can see gaps in between."
Yeto punched a tree and a crystal leaf had fallen. Yeto jumped onto it and began sliding his way down somewhere.
Vergil did something with his sword and four crystal leaves fell in front of them. Yeto was fading out of their sights.
"Let's go!" Vergil shouted. "We're going to lose him!"
Vergil jumped on quickly and slid as fast as he could. Nero followed him, who was being chased by Dante and Lightning. Vergil could see Yeto making gestures to them. He could see him pointing at something. First, Vergil just concentrated on the gaps he had to jump over. He looked to his left where Yeto had pointed. A house was there, standing in the middle of nowhere. There was a huge bend where Vergil nearly banged into the boulder stopping him from falling down into the icy, cold pit below. After the bend was the house where Yeto lived. Yeto had waited for them outside his house.
Once they jumped off their leaf, it shattered into pieces. The house that the yetis lived in wasn't a house but a mansion. The building was high but it didn't look very luxurious. The exterior was black and the windows were either cracked or completely gone.
"Take mirror. Yeto wife need soup. Yeto go make soup."
Yeto walked inside.
"Hey!" called Lightning. "Wait!"
She ran in as she was followed by the three devils. Ice was all over the floor and there was no warmth in the air as they had expected.
"Man, it's too cold!" shivered Dante. "Let's get that shard already and get out of here!"
"Well, we need to find that Yeto now aren't we?" Dante nodded. "Then stop complaining and whining and be the man you need to be." Vergil suddenly laughed.
"What's so funny?" asked Dante.
"The thought of you being a man and dealing with something."
"Why is that funny?"
"Because you can't do that!" Vergil carried on laughing.
"That's not funny!"
Vergil still continued to laugh. Dante became paranoid. He became angry because Vergil wouldn't shut his big mouth. He took out his sword and struck at Vergil's stomach. But something stopped him. It was Vergil's katana.
