Chapter 23 - Water

Fang woke up to see Serah, Telma and Colin. They were smiling at her conscious face. She sat up and rubbed her head.

"Are you okay, Fang?" asked Colin.

"Yeah. I feel okay. What happened?"

"Well," Telma walked closer. "You are really brave. Just like Link and Ilia. But you value other's safety than your own, don't you?" Fang looked down. "I thought so. When we saw Link come in to the village telling us that you were on your way, you must've hit your head badly before you came into the village. You came in and collapsed to the ground. A goron brought you in here with Renado."

"I guess I need to thank him." She suddenly looked around. "Where's that boy?"

Serah and Telma moved out of her way. The Zora Prince was on the bed next to her, accompanied by Luda and Beth. The Prince was conscious but obviously tired.

"I'm going outside for some fresh air. I think I need it."

"I'll stay with you," offered Serah.

Colin stood next to her and smiled. "Me too!"

Fang slowly got up from the bed. Telma had sat on a chair next to the girls and watched the slowness in which Fang had walked. Telma, on the inside, was surprised to see a woman who was and is a powerful, brave and courageous warrior turn into a weakened person. She could still see the power, courage and braveness from Fang's eyes as she got up.

She walked out of the room, still weak. Colin was next to her and Serah was behind her holding her spear. It was hard for Fang to walk down. She stopped and held onto the hand rail. She suddenly felt better and she looked at Serah. Serah nodded. Fang carried on walking down the stairs and opened the door to outside. Colin was looking at her with wide eyes. But he carried on smiling. The wind outside blew harshly through their hair. Serah handed Fang her spear.

She placed it in her holder and looked at Serah. "Thanks." She turned to look at Colin. "Where do you think that goron is?"

He giggled. "In there." He pointed at the house near the spring.

"What's funny?"

"I don't know. I just thought of Malo losing a race against me. I'm actually smaller and slower than him so he calls me names and stuff. I don't do anything but Link sticks up for me."

"Look even when Link's not there, you should be able to stick up for yourself. Try beating him at something you're good at. After that, you'll be even." She clenched her fist. "Equal." His smile broadened. "Come on. Let's go in."

She opened the door to the house. Ilia was standing next to Gor Coron, looking down. Gor Coron was trying to cheer her up. But it didn't look like it was working.

Renado was on the other side of the house talking to a muscled goron who looked like he was interested in the conversation. Renado noticed Fang and walked towards her with the goron following him.

He smiled cheerfully. "Ah, Fang, is it?" asked Renado. She nodded. "This is Darbus. The Goron Patriarch."

"Hi." The goron just nodded in her direction.

"He was the one who brought you into the hotel for you to be examined. To see why you fell in agony."

"Thank you, Darbus."
