Chapter 3 - The Arrival

Walking through the green plains, leaving the country of Fortuna, Nero, in his long blue trench coat began his search of something he never knew of. He knew it would never be found if he didn’t know what it was. He sat down to think about his next destination. It was absolutely peaceful.  He carried his long red motorcycle handled sword and blue gun. His blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight and wind blew into his white hair.

All of a sudden, he heard screaming. He ran towards the echoed scream. He saw men and women running everywhere. He looked straight ahead. There were monsters everywhere. He hesitated. Those monsters…they looked human. He thought it wasn’t possible. It shocked him.

“Go! Get outta here!” he shouted.

He pulled out his sword and fought. He struck and shot every monster he could see. The people watched in admiration and fear. A monster came towards them. They backed away slowly in their fear. Suddenly, it fell to the ground. Nero was behind it holding his gun. He smiled.

“All dead,” called out a voice in the shadows behind the man. He turned around. The shadow stepped forward. Dressed in a green tunic, the stranger wore a green coloured hat, brown boots, had blonde hair, blue eyes and was wielding a sword and a shield. The weird thing was that he had pointy ears just like an elf’s ears. “Pretty good moves you’ve got there. I’m Link.” He held out his hand. He wore brown gauntlets too.

“I’m Nero.” They shook hands. Link had a firm grip. He looked at Nero intently. He circled him.

“By the crest on your jacket, your white hair and amazingly long sword, you look like a foreign soldier on a major quest. You must’ve been trained well.”

“By the looks of your sword and shield and the people staring at you, you must’ve done something incredible.”

Link laughed. “Well, my ancestor was the Hero of Time. He passed on his message and his power to me.”

Nero wasn’t convinced. “What’s his power then? Does it do anything? Anything special?”

Link lifted his left hand and closed his eyes. Suddenly, three triangles, like the ones on his shield, appeared on the back of his hand. The one on the right side began to glow. The people began to cry.

“These are the triangles of the Triforce made by the goddesses who created this beloved place.”

“What are you talking about? Who are those goddesses and where am I?”

“The goddesses were Nayru, the goddess of wisdom, Farore, the goddess of courage and Din, the goddess of power. Together they made this land. The land of Hyrule.”

“Never heard of it.”

“Obviously! You’re not from here. I can tell by your ears. Hylians have ears like my own. But I wonder. How much have you been trained?”

“Quite a lot. Why?”

Link took his sword and shield out. “Because I’m challenging you to a fight. Just to test your strength.”

“Sure! Bring it on!” Nero took his sword out. “Red Queen, bring me some luck.”

Clashing swords with Link was something Nero really didn’t want to do because Link was just a stranger he’d just met. He wanted to do it as well for the training. He felt angry. It reminded him of his brother. This wasn’t good. He felt even angrier. He swung his sword harder. He pushed Link to the side. He slowly walked towards the fallen hero. Link stood up. They attacked each other again. This time Link put his sword through Nero’s heart by mistake. Nero stared at him and dropped his sword before he fell to the ground. Link sat on one knee. The people ran away. Filled with regret, Link stood up. He took his sword out of Nero and began to leave.
