Chapter 14 - A Familiar face
In the spring, the one who was unconscious was Serah. Zelda began pacing.
“How about a fairy?”
“I’ll try,” said Link.
Link put a bottle in Serah’s hand. It was glowing pink. He opened the lid and stepped away quickly. The fairy’s magic flew on her. It didn’t work.
Link shook his head. “We’re so dead.”
Zelda put her head down. Midna put her hand on Zelda’s shoulder.
“Should I use my magic?”
“I don’t know. But I don’t think it’s a good idea.” She turned around to face the spring. “Ordona. Use your magic to take the bug’s poison out of her. I order you to do so.”
The spring shone as bright as it could. It was so bright that Midna had to hide in Link’s shadow. The spring lifted Serah in the air and tried to suck the poison light. The blue light came out of her slowly.
“Hm… I see. This girl isn’t Hylian or human. If she was, she would have been dead. I have been taking the poison out. But by the looks of it I can only do a quarter of it. Chosen Heroes, take her to the other springs too, where she will be fully healed by the other springs.”
They nodded. The spring placed her in Link’s arms.
“Midna, to Faron spring,” spoke Zelda.
Midna came out of Link’s shadow. She made a portal in the sky and it sucked them up and they appeared in the spring in the Faron province.
Zelda looked up at the spring spirit. “Faron. Use your magic to heal her. She’s been poisoned by the bug’s light. Ordona said that you could heal a quarter.”
Just like the Ordon spring, Faron shone as bright as it could and lifted Serah in the air. It sucked as much poison as it could. Link could see bits of blue coming out of Serah like before.
“What’s going on here?” a woman spoke behind them. “Let her go!”
Midna turned around. She nudged Link and Zelda. They turned slowly, hoping it wasn’t Lightning.
The woman was in the shadows. She ran to where Serah was. “Bring her down!”
Slowly, Serah was brought down in the woman’s arms.
The woman had fairly bronze skin, wavy dark brown hair, piercing green eyes with a beauty mark right underneath one, pierced ears with purple claw-shaped earrings, scars on her right arm and shoulder, a blue sari adorned with tribal accessories. She wore a short black top, black sleeves over her forearm, tan leather open-toed boots, and two fur pelts hanging from a cord beneath a belt that was holding a red spear. She had something white on her right shoulder and a large tattoo on the other.
She looked at the three of them. “Who are you? What are you doing to her?”
Midna was astonished. “You can see me?”
“Yes, why would you even need to ask that question?”
“Because I am Midna. Ruler of the Twilight realm. I appear as a shadow here, so I can’t believe you can see me.”
“Right.”
“This is Princess Zelda, the ruler of Hyrule. And this is Link. He is the Hero chosen by the goddesses.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Because this is odd. You shouldn’t see me. You must be different.”
