Chapter 22 - The Flying Race

Appearing outside of the Snowpeak province, Lightning tried calling Serah yet again. No one picked up. She was getting frustrated.

"Alright," said Vergil. "We need to get out of here fast."

"We know," mumbled Lightning.

"How are meant to do that?" asked Dante. "Do you want me to fly us there?"

"Why not? It won't be so difficult. No one else has better transport, right?"

Lightning coughed to get their attention. "Odin."

Her crystal rose appeared and she shot it in the air. Odin was summoned and she stood next to him. "We do this together." As fast as he could, Odin turned into a horse. "Any questions?" Vergil shook his head. "Well then, here's an idea. How about we go with Odin as long as he's already here?"

"I prefer flying, right Vergil?"

"Yeah Dante loves showing off his flying powers."

"Hey! You're coming with me!"

Lightning and Nero laughed. "Well then. I guess it's just Nero and myself. Ready?" she asked Nero as she got on.

He jumped on. "Yeah. Hey guys! Race you there!"

"Where?" asked Vergil.

"Kakariko Village!"

"Bring it on!" Dante turned into his demonic state and held onto Vergil.

"Ready?" asked Nero. Both Lightning and Dante nodded. "Three! Two! One! GO!!"

At the sound of that one word, Dante flew higher into the sky before gliding towards the end of the province. Odin neighed and flew into the air.

"HE FLIES?!" exclaimed Nero.

"Not really. He walks on a bridge of petals that are made of my crystal. The last time he did this was when you were unconscious."

"So it's magic?" She nodded. "Are we faster?"

"Not sure. You certainly do ask a whole lot of questions."

"That's because I don't know anything about your..."

"Eidolon. Even in Hyrule Castle too."

"Again. I didn't know anything to do with Hyrule. Trust me. You'll ask a whole load of questions when it comes to..." He stopped.

"Your part of the prophecy..." She finished.

“Yeah…I’m sure it won’t be as bad as that time now that I’ve got you guys.”

“I know I’ll have the same feeling when it comes to Cocoon.” She looked below. She could see a village down there but there was no sign of the twins who she expected to land there before them. Lightning commanded Odin to descend down towards the village.

The village was surrounded by trees and nobody seemed to be there. Lightning made Odin land in a secluded area which actually was a spring. When the two of them got off, he turned into his knight form and followed them into the village as long as nobody was there.

“Where is everyone?” asked Lightning.

“Maybe they’re in their homes, sleeping or something. You want to knock on the door?”

Lightning walked up to the house closest to her and knocked on the door. “Odin, hide.” Odin hid on top of the house they were visiting. She knocked again. “Hello? Is anyone there?”
