Semaj went all day Saturday and Sunday without seeing and speaking to Michael. They were both going insane and couldn't take being apart, but neither of them had yet figured out some sort of strategy to see each other. They still both fiend to be in one another's arms.

James kept Semaj on lock down the remainder of the weekend. She went nowhere and if her parents left the house then she too left, along with Simone. She wasn't allowed to text or call anyone and if she did use the house phone it was monitored by either Janelle or James. She felt as if she was a prisoner in her own home. She was the puppet and her parents were the masters and they took turns trying to control her and it was driving her insane. She was counting down the days until her birthday.

"Five more days," she mumbles staring at the calender on her wall. "Five more."

"Semaj!" Janelle yells. "Let's go!"

It was Monday morning, but not a regular one. Usually Michael would come and pick her up or stop by just to see her. He was very spontaneous with his visits and that's what Semaj loved about him. She loved his spontaneous visits, his mysterious style, his smile, those brown eyes, those soft lips, and most importantly how she felt secure, free, but safe in his arms.

"Semaj," Janelle says her door swinging open and she hadn't even noticed that she was still saring at her calender. "Come on sweetie," her mom smiles as if nothing was wrong.

Semaj doesn't even crack a smile or not her head. She just stares at Janelle with a blank expression. Janelle catches the hint and pushes her hair behind her ears and sighs before leaving out closing the door. Sucking up the tears that dared to fall, Semaj grabs her bag and leaves out of the room and the house to her parents that were already sitting in the car waiting.

"So for your birthday we're flying to California to visit your grandmother." James says once Semaj is in the car and they're pulling off.

"It's my birthday so I should spend it how I please." She repsonds making James looking in the mirror at her and he sighs heavily.

"Semaj, what did i just say? Now Janelle's mother is able to fly here and there but you know my mother is incapable. Speaking of which she'll be flying in today and you're going to ride in the company car to the airport to get here. We've already given her the rundown about you so don't try anything slick. Alright? When you get home just make sure you have clothes clean to pack. We're leaving on Thursday."

"It's my birthday. Why do I have to spend it in California? Maybe I wanted to stay here and celebrate it. I don't want to go to freaking California to visit that lady. She only calls when it's convient for her anyway!" Semaj exclaims rolling her eyes and James clenches the steering wheel. "You know what just let me out. I'll walk to school." Semaj says when the car stops at a red light.

"Semaj, stop it," Janelle sighs rubbing her temples.

Semaj clicks the button to unlock her back door and swings it open. "Semaj don't you dare get out of this car." James threatens but she doesn't listen. She just reaches over grabbing her bag.

"I've been walking to school any other time so I can do it now. Bye" She gets out slamming the door behind her and quickly goes to the sidewalk before the light can turn green. James was tempted to get out of the car himself but Janelle grabs him shaking her head.

"Just let her walk to school James, she needs to blow off the steam," she says sighing and James just clenches his teeth, shakes his head, and zooms off when the light turns green.

"Who ya missin?" Lina says chuckling as she peeps over in Semaj's notebook during lunch.

"No one" Semaj replies shaking her head as she absentmindedly writes and draws Michael's name all over the notebook paper with hearts and stars. Lina grabs her wrist lifting it up and Semaj blinks her eyes actually, officially, roaming the paper and she blushes and covers her face.
