Semaj's POV
Since today was Saturday and I really didn't have anything to do, I decided to take a trip to the library and check out some books. I hadn't read a good book in a little while and I was going through a withdrawal. I found a good Sci-Fi one the usual, vampires, werewolf's, girls -oh my- and then another book about love and romance between two broken people; cliché but it sounded good. Although I wanted the books, I knew Michael would probably have a conniption if he found out I rode the bus that deep into the west side of town, but I would just blame it on him for not texting me back or retuning my calls. It was almost twelve o'clock so knowing him he probably stayed up late and just went to sleep a few hours ago.
"Hey Semaj," Janie a girl from my school says waving at me.
"Hey Janie," I wave back at her as I turn the corner, making my way down to Benny's.
A girl was hungry and I was craving a juicy burger and fries at this moment. Of course Benny's was crowded because it was a Saturday and the weather was warming up so more people were out and about. I was actually excited for the warmer weather now. I had enough of wearing coats, scarves, and boots. Plus, spring and summer were my favorite seasons.
"Hey Semaj!" Benny yells over his line of people when I walk inside and I wave at him before getting in the line.
It doesn't take long for me to order my food and pay for it. Of course Benny tried to put it on the house but I didn't want him to keep doing that for me, especially if I had the money to pay him. He had a business to run so he needed the money more than I wanted to save it. I was making my way over to the bus stop to sit down and eat my food before the next bus came to head over to Michael's house-- but that wouldn't be for another hour.
"Ain't see you in a minute," my body freezes as I turn around to see Marco and two other guys standing behind the bench. I sigh and fold my food up to put it back in the bag before getting up and walking away.
"Yo, where you goin'?!" Marco yells and he grabs my wrist yanking me around so we bump chests.
"Marco, let me go!" I yell snatching from him, making a few people look over at us. "You know if Michael found out that you grabbed me like that he'd probably want to kill you, but I won't tell him. Just leave me alone, okay?" I warn him.
"So Michael run you now?" He asks making me roll my eyes. "You grown, you can talk to who you wanna talk to."
"Exactly," I say smacking his hand away when he goes to stroke my cheek. "And I don't want to talk to you." A black Pontiac pulls up, parking, and Aaron hops out of the driver's seat.
"We gotta problem?" He asks raising his brows.
"This ain't got shit to do wit you Aaron so get back in yo lil car and peace out, a'ight?"
"A'ight, come on Semaj get in the car." Aaron nods his head towards his car. At first I'm hesitant but knowing that Aaron and Michael are on somewhat good terms I make my way around the car to the passenger side and get in not before get a wicked smile from Marco that made a shiver run down my spine. Aaron gets in the driver seat, quickly pulling off and making a sharp turn around the corner making me slide to the door. I hurry up and put on my seatbelt before I fly through the window with his reckless driving.
"You good?" He asks looking over at me briefly and I nod my head.
"He yanked me around pretty hard so my arm and shoulder kind of hurts." I reply rubbing it, "but overall I'm okay," I assure him nodding my head and he does the same.
There were a few minutes of silence before I finally speak again. "Can I ask you something?"
"You jus' did," he chuckles making me chuckle too. "Go 'head."
