The entire school day, from the time I stepped in there until the time the last bell rung, I was on my toes. The butterflies and nerves constantly invaded my body. I was so nervous about tonight's dinner I couldn't even eat breakfast or lunch without feeling like I was going to be sick. Every time I thought about it and the different possibilities of how it could go I would feel as if I was going crazy. And it hadn't even happened yet! I knew I needed to calm down, but something just wouldn't let me. Trusting Michael when it came to faithfulness or honestly-there was no problem there, but trusting him when it came to not showing his behind or disappointing me I was still on the weary side. I could just imagine him strolling into the restaurant with his black cargo pants, a V-neck t-shirt with designs all on it along with an inappropriate saying, his black boots, and a matching snapback to cover his curls.

I was becoming sick just thinking about it.

"Yo Semaj," I hear a voice behind me say before they're touching my shoulder and making me jump.

I turn around my heart racing and Tucker looks at me as if I had two heads and then starts laughing, takes a few steps back.

"What got you all jumpy and shit?" He asks cocking an eyebrow.

I just shake my head and wave him off. "Nothing-wait did you call me Semaj?" I ask frowning finally noticing that he didn't refer to me as 'baby' or the annoying acronym "bae".

"Hey I lost the bet on spellin' privilege yesterday so I ain't gon call you bae no mo. I just wanted to ask you if you seen Lina 'round? I been looking for her pretty much all day." He says looking around again and I shake my head, but then stop and look up at him, studying him closely.

Yesterday Lina was on me about how Tucker and I would be a cute couple and how he was cute and all of that and now he was looking for her? And by the expression on his face it looked like he needed to talk to her about something serious and I was curious as to what it was.

"Uh, no," I reply shaking my head. "I haven't seen her since drama class."

"Oh. Well uh, if you see her tell her I been lookin' for her an she can hit my line." He smiles at me and I nod my head before he's walking away.

If this dinner wasn't tonight I would find Lina and question her about all this, but right now her and Tucker and whatever else might be going on between them had to wait. I had a dinner to think about tonight and I just needed to focus on that and that alone. Especially with it being with my parents and Michael.

After my mom picked me up from school, she went straight home, exactly what I wanted her to do. I wasted no time opening my closet and staring all of my clothes and shoes down. I didn't know what to wear. I didn't want to go all out, but I didn't want to be simple either. This became a little nerve racking. Everything I picked out and put against my body in front of the mirror I just ended up throwing it back on my bed.

My door was knocked on twice before it opened and Simone came in with a smile on her face.

"Hey Maji," she says with a bright smile and then looks humorously over to my bed full of clothes. "Find anything to wear yet?"

I was holding a red dress to my boy, looking in the mirror as I shook my head. "Not even close," I reply sighing and I throw the red dress on my bed before going back to my closet to try and find something else.

"Where are you guys going?" She asks making space on my bed to sit down.

"We're going to P.F. Changs, you know that Chinese restaurant over out by the mall?" She nods her head. "We're supposed to be meeting Michael out there at seven fifteen." I add on while picking out the flared black jeans.
