-Night of Max's Party-
I arrived home from school and went upstairs to finish up some homework. Not even five minutes and someone was knocking on my door. "Go away!" I really didn't feel like being bothered and today Max hasn't spoken to me. It's as if he was even avoiding me and been hanging out with Veronica and her asswipes.
"Is that really nice to be talking to your cousin like that?" Cassidy came inside my bedroom. "So a little birdy told me that there's supposed to be a welcome back home party at your friends house. You going?"
I really thought hard about that question. Am I?, but I don't even think he'll want me to be there. So no, I'm not going. "No, I'm not going."
"Why the hell..." Cassidy froze and looked behind her. "Why aren't you going?"
"...Because I'm not one of them. And because, I'm a fucking nerd that has to stay home and read her fucking books."
"The hell you are." Cassidy came over and closed my book. "Get up now! You are going to that party and you're going to walk in there single and ready to mingle."
I laughed at her and went to my closet to pick out my dress. Fifteen minutes later, I came out the bathroom to show Cassidy what I looked like.
"What the hell are you wearing?" Cassidy's face was all twisted up.
"I'm wearing my favorite red dress." I looked at her angrily.
"More like the 50's. Honey, you need an upgrade." Cassidy ran out my room and into the guest room. After a short while, she came back holding a beautiful emerald dress with black heels and some jewelry. "Now this is what I call an upgrade."
Looking into the mirror, I saw a whole new different person. Was this me? Tears started to flutter in my eyes.
"Taytum, don't cry. You'll ruin your makeup." She giggled. "Now let me do a Vietnam hairstyle that I personally love."
It only took thirty minutes to get my hair done. I told Cassidy, thank you and gave her a hug. I was about to step out the door when she had stopped me. "Uh uh, Taytum. give me your glasses."
"...B...but I can't see without them." I looked at her pleadingly.
"Taytum, I got contacts for you, but those glasses do not go with that dress." I finally handed her my glasses. "Oh my god."
"What?" I looked at her puzzled.
"You look very beautiful without the glasses Taytum. You look pretty with them, but really you look very different without them." Cassidy placed the eye contacts in my eyes. "Now go get em tiger."
I said thank you again and walked out the door. I borrowed Cassidy's car and drove off to Max's house. I was so nervous and my hands were very sweaty. I wonder how everyone would react once I stepped into the door. Would they laugh at me? Would they call me names? (Man, shut the hell up, Taytum. Why are you even caring about what other people think of you?)
Ten minutes later, I arrived at Max's house and heard the music coming from inside his house. I took a deep breath and got out of the car. The music became louder once I was closer towards the house. Before I could grab the door handle, Aaron came through it.
"Damn. Who are you? I didn't know Max was inviting models to this party. What your name?" He reeked of alcohol.
"Excuse me, but I'm here to meet a friend." I ignored his question.
"I can be your friend. Come on. Want to have some fun with me?" He started rubbing my arm.
"Get your hands off of me and move out the damn way!" I couldn't believe this guy. I'm so glad that he doesn't know me though.
