-A New Place-

(Tate's point of view)

The tissue was soaking wet from the tears on my face. I really missed my mom and Max even though I'm going to be gone for 7 days. This was going to be new and different to me. I was going to have random counselors and doctors asking me questions and wanted to get to know my life.

There was this big center that said, "Suicidal Prevention Youth Center," on the front of it. There was a big fountain in front of the center. The car parked in front of these two big brown double doors. The driver got out of the car and opened my door. He helped me grab my bags as I walked towards a new place. I told the driver thank you as he drove off again. The doors automatically opened and I stepped inside. Turning around, I saw the doors close and it was if I was locked in and wasn't able to leave ever again.

I saw a woman sitting behind a desk. She was wearing a navy blue pencil skirt with a red top. She welcomed me over. I was hesitant at first, but I walked to her and waited for the woman to speak.

"Hi, you must me Taytum Brynn Jase. Welcome to SPYC." The woman flashed me a warm smile. "I'm Laura Rivers and I'll help you sign in and get you to your destination."

"Thank you." I was looking all around her. It was a big place. It was polished, smelled nice and there was lots of art hanging around the walls. What a strange place to be having lots of pictures and art on the walls.

"Now, don't be shy. You'll get really cozy once you get to know some of the staff and other people. So Taytum, please take this form and sign below where there are signature lines for your name and please take a seat while you finish." Laura pointed to a row of black chairs.

I walked over cautiously to the chairs and took a seat. Looking at the form, I saw my birth date, my sex, why I was in here, and the treatment that I needed. My eyes went wide open when I saw the word treatment. I continued to sign my name and answer some questions about how I slept, how my eating habitats were, and how my day was going.

About ten minutes later, I walked back to the front desk while rolling my suitcase and handed the form to Laura.

"Alright then, please follow me so I can show you to your room." Laura got up and began to walk.

We passed two hallways and there were some people looking at me. I was still quite tensed up knowing I had to be here all by myself. There were a few adults, teenagers, and even kids here. I began to regret coming here. Turning a corner, Laura and I were in another corridor and this time there was a big single wall with a woman's face. There were butterflies flying around her and colors creating her. It was absolutely beautiful. I stopped and stared at the amazing artwork and it seemed to calm me down.

"Taytum, we really need to get going." Laura stopped and saw what I was looking at. "Oh, isn't she such a wonder? My mother's grandmother painted this before she passed. Her mother and father built this place because my great grandmother's sister committed suicide when she lost her new born baby. This very painting has been with us for 20 years and we just remodeled it two years ago."

"It is a very pretty painting. It seemed to calm me down a bit." I continued to look at this great art.

Laura smiled at me. "It tends to have that affect on people. Now come on so I can show you to your room."

"So your mother runs this center then?"

"Aah, I wish, but no she doesn't. My father does. My mother died last year from cancer, it stills leave sorrow for us Rivers, but we learned to move on and help out the people that really need help like you." Laura glanced at me as she said that.

"Laura, I don't know why I'm here actually, I mean I do, but I know what I did wrong. I just want to be with my family."

"Dear, I understand and you don't seem like a kind of person that would do something like that you yourself, but who knows when our breaking point is. You're here because loved ones want you here. They just want to make sure that you don't do something drastic like that again." Laura stopped at a room that said, "Taytum Jase." "Listen Taytum, after these couple of days, you'll be out of here. You'll feel much better when you get out of here then when you first came in here because from what I can tell, you still have much pain, regret, and sorrow inside of you. It's time to talk it through and not hold it in anymore. Now here's your room. A lady named, Melanie Foyer will be coming here to check on you."

"Thank you, Laura."

"You're very much welcome." Laura gave me a hug and left.

I opened the door and expected the room to be a jail cell, but instead it was an elegant and graceful room. There was a full bed with a wardrobe and a dresser. Then in the front of the room was a small living room area. And next to that, was a medium sized bathroom, with a rainfall shower head. I was kind of surprised that a room was looking like this. I shut my room door and placed my bag and suit case near the bed. I was tired to be honest from the traveling. Maybe I should take a nap and wait for that what's her name to show up.
