-You'll never know that your enemies will be your friends-

School was the same, I still had people whispering about how I looked so different without the glasses. So today, I wanted to show the school who I really was. Today, I didn't wearing any glasses. I wore some dark blue jeans with a red plaid shirt and my hair was up into a Zig-Zag Braided Chignon. It was weird though, the more I didn't wear my glasses, the more guys were starring at me, especially the asshole, Aaron. Max and I started talking again, and it was good having a friend that treated me different from how the others would do. We agreed that on Saturday night, we would go to the bowling alley and hang out.

During the day, I went to the library and read one of my favorite books, "Jake's Orphan." It was about a kid who was adopted into a farm and didn't really get along with the farmer, until one fatal accident brought them together. Sometimes I wonder, what if I never met Max? Would my life be the same as it was before? Would I make the same choice that Julie made?

The door to the library opened up and I saw Tyler step inside. He looked at me and walked to the girl sitting with two other girls. It was Veronica and her bitches. Veronica looked over at me and got out of her seat and walked over to me. Like bitch, can't you just leave me the hell be?

"Hey Tate," She was mocking how Max would say my name.

I just ignored her and continued reading my book. Wasn't going to miss my favorite part over some slut who can't seem to learn her damn place. I happened to glance at her to see that she was definitely annoyed that I was ignoring her. Man, I was enjoying this, until she slammed my book down.

"What the hell, Veronica?" The librarian told us to be more quiet.

"That seemed to get your attention now. Anyway, how are you and your new lover, Max." I could tell she was trying to get under my skin.

"He's not my lover, we're just friends. But I guess you don't seem to get that because you don't have any friends." I cocked my eye brows at her.

"What are you talking about, bitch? These three are my friends." Veronica might've been pretty, but damn she was slow as hell.

"First of him, hoe one and hoe two aren't even your friends, hashtag your followers and Tyler is your fuck buddy. He'll probably dump you once he'll get tired of that thing that you call a vagina." I saw Tyler giggling to himself.

Veronica went to slap me, but I grabbed her arm and started hardening my grip on her. "You hit me one more time and I swear on your grave, that I'll shove this arm down your throat." I narrowed my eyes at her.

Veronica and her knuckle heads looked at me shockingly as if they didn't think that I could stand up for myself. I sat back down and opened my book. I guess she was too shocked to say anything else and walked away. Tyler went to say something as well but I pointed to where his group was and shooed him away. Man, I'm starting to love standing up for myself.

At lunch, I was sitting with the field hockey team when Butch had nudged me in the arm. She pointed to Max and then gave me a wink. Did this whole entire school know that I was hanging out with him?

"Man alert." Butch started hyping the other teammates. "Guess who's coming this way. Taytum, go get your man."

I punched Butch in the arm playfully and looked up at Max. He smiled that gorgeous smile and came over. I stood up and gave him a hug as I said hey. I looked over my shoulder to see the girls whispering and laughing quietly.

"Will you guys shut the hell up? I mean goodness, he is standing right here." Max wrapped his arm around my waist. What was he doing? I'm trying to not get the girls hyped up and he's trying to cause a show.
