-The Start of Something New-

Today was Sunday and usually we would have a big breakfast and dinner, but without dad, mom didn't bother cooking either. Cassidy and I started preparing the food, since mom wasn't up to it. She's still has been grieving and yes you might ask me why I'm not since I lost my dad two days ago, but I've started to accept it. Even though it pains me everyday to not see his face or not to feel him when I needed him.

Why Cassidy was making breakfast, I went up stairs to see if mom was doing ok. As I opened the door, mom was still sleeping. She had her arm spread out on dad's side of the bed, hoping that this was all a bad dream and she could wake up and see his smile. I went to close the door, when I heard mom crying. She must've woken up and realized that dad was gone.

"Mom, it's going to be ok." I hugged her.

"I know this is selfish but, I wanted to leave first before he left because its painful to not see him and not feel his touch or hear his lame jokes. I just want him to come back. Why did he have to leave me?" Mom hit the side of dad's bed.

"Mom, he didn't leave us. He is still with us, in our hearts he is." Mom looked at me and then smiled.

"What would I do without you and Cassidy?" Mom brushed my hair. "There is another way of knowing that he is still here."

"What is that mom?"

"...By looking at you. You look soo much like him. And I know its hard for you to not have a mortal father anymore, but know this. He still loves us even though he's not here." Mom picked up dad's watch. "At least I'll have this as a keep sake in here."

Mom went to the bathroom and I went back downstairs. Cassidy was making the bacon. The eggs, pancakes, hash browns, and sausages were looking mighty delicious as it sat on the glass dish.

Later in the day, I had gotten a text message from an unknown number. I clicked on the message box and the text had said, "I'm sorry about your lost." I was a little startled. I mean the only person who knew about my father's death, was Max. So instead of ignoring the text, I replied by saying, "Thank you, but can I kindly ask who this is?" It took a while for the person to answer back, but after a couple of minutes, the person was Tyler. Tyler? How the hell did he know about my dad? I dialed his number on my phone and waited for him to pick up.

"Finally you want to talk to me. All this time, you've been ignoring me, now you want to talk to me?" He laughed over the phone.

"Shut up! How did you get my number, stalker?" I tried to not raise my voice. Didn't want to wake up my mom and Cass.

"Stalker? You wish I would be stalking you, but Max actually gave me your number." Max, why the hell would he give my number to a jerk like you?

"Cut the bull, Tyler. I know Max didn't give my number to you."

"Fine you caught me, I got it from one of your teammates."

"How the hell...?"

"...Yeah, yeah. I used my charm on her." Charm, more like him seducing her with his dick. Damn Logan, always being so damn gullible.

"What do you want, Tyler?" Irritation grew in my voice.

"I want to talk. Can I come over?"

"No, you can not. My mom isn't feeling well and you are still a dick."

"Come on, Taytum. I just want to talk, that's all. Can't I just come over and I promise that's all I want to do." (Yeah promise my ass.)

"Whatever, Tyler. But if anything, I mean anything crosses over your mind, we are never to speak again because a fishing rod will be down your throat." I heard Tyler giggling on the other end of the phone.
