-Would you hurt the only one you've ever loved?-
(Max's point of view)
I was so freaking pissed off with Aaron for making me drive over to his place when I could be spending my time with Tate. Apparently it's an emergency, but what could he have done that he needed my help? When I parked my car on the side of the curb facing Aaron's house, I got out quick and banged on his door. A girl opened the door. She looked half-drunk and she was barely wearing clothes. I pushed her out the way and went looking for Aaron. I found him sitting on the couch with him just wearing his boxers.
"Get the fuck out, Lisa!" Aaron yelled.
"...But you promised me breakfast, baby." The girl could barely stand.
"I don't care. Now get the FUCK OUT!" Aaron threw a alcohol bottle at Lisa, but just barely missed her.
"What the hell Aaron?" I began to clench my fist.
"Hey little bro. How's you and that fine thing of yours doing?" Aaron licked his lips as he spoke about Taytum.
"Dude, what the hell do you want?" I rolled my eyes.
"I've called you here to make a deal with you." Aaron sat up and looked at me with a mischievous smile.
I was very confused. What deal did he want? If this was about Taytum, I would literally cut his dick off and shove it in his mouth. I kept my cool and asked him what kind of deal he was talking about.
"Well do you remember April 7th, 2017 late at night?" My eyes widened as I knew what he was talking about. "I'm guessing you do. You see, you promised to Taytum that you wouldn't dare ever to hurt her, but why would you almost sleep with her cousin, Cassidy right? If you truly loved her, you would've never hurt her."
"How do you know this, Aaron?"
"Well I'm quite sneaky aren't I?" Aaron began to laugh. "I was at that same club about to leave with a girl when I saw you and Cassidy talking. Something about how you were afraid to tell Taytum how you felt and that she would probably reject you. If Cassidy was such a good cousin, she wouldn't have wanted you for herself, she would've given you good advice, but then instead she wanted to sleep with you. But as a good boy even though you were drunk, you didn't sleep with her, but man you should've. I mean, I would've."
"What do you want, Aaron?" I tried to calm myself down, but that night was a mistake. I didn't mean for that night to happen. I didn't sleep with her, but I did kiss her and we did end up in the bathroom, so would Taytum understand? No she wouldn't because it was her own family.
"I want you to leave Taytum alone. Let her go back to her pathetic life when she wasn't popular and all. If you don't leave, I have something that I could show to Taytum and prove to her the real kind of boyfriend you really are. Such a shame to lose her virginity to someone whos a joke and liar." Aaron was basically blackmailing me.
How the fuck did he know about last night as well? I had to think, I really didn't want to do this to Taytum. I knew this would hurt her, but leaving Tate as well, would hurt her even more. So I decided to just run away like a coward I was. I wasn't ready to tell her what happened. I'm surprised that Cassidy, her own cousin didn't tell her what happened.
"Fine, Aaron. Fucking fine. You won. I'll talk to Taytum and tell her that I won't be able to be with her anymore." I shook my head in disgust with myself.
"Great, you chose to be a dick instead of telling your girl. You don't love her you coward. Now get out of here. And if I catch you being with her, I can just go up to her and tell Taytum what kind of person you really are."
-April 15th, 2017-
I've been thinking all night about what Aaron had said. I really didn't want to let my baby go, but I also didn't want to hurt her. (But you're still hurting her.) I drove over to Tate's house and knocked on her door. Mrs. Jase answered and she looked at me. I'm guessing she could read my face expression.
"Hey Max, um are you ok?" She moved out the doorway to let me in.
"Yeah, is Tate here?"
"Yes, she's in her room."
I nodded my head and walked up the steps. I could hear her booming some music. Knocking on the door, I heard her cut the music off. Taytum opened the door and she looked at me. Man, she was very beautiful. I hate to be letting her go.
"We need to talk." I walked in her room and closed the door.
"What's wrong Max?" She looked at me worried.
"I'm sorry Taytum. I promise that I wouldn't hurt you, but I'm going to have to break that promise. We can't be together anymore. We're over. I'm so sorry. I hope you understand. It's just things are very complicated and I hope you don't take this personal."
"Personal? What about what you said to me Friday night. Did that not mean nothing to you?" Tears started to fall down on her cheeks. Man what have I done?
"It does Taytum. It really does, but I can't do this no more. I just..."
"GET OUT, MAX! GET THE FUCK OUT!" Taytum bursted in tears.
"Please Taytum..."
"No Max. I gave you all of me and you just throw it back in my face. You won't even explain why you're breaking up with me? Wait was this your plan all along? To get me to fall in love with you and then you get me to have sex with you, then you dump me on the side of the curb?" I hated seeing her like this. What the fuck have you done, Max?
"Taytum, I really do love you, but just admit to yourself. Is this even us?" (What the fuck did you just say?)
"So you're saying that what we had wasn't real?"
"It was, Tate..."
"GET OUT!" Taytum plopped on her bed and began crying hysterically.
"I'm sorry." I didn't want to cause her anymore pain that she was already in.
As I opened the door, I saw Mrs. Jase looking at me as if I were a stranger. "You should just leave and don't come back." Hearing her say that made me feel like shit.
I got in my car and I called Aaron's number and I started yelling at him.
"ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? I JUST BROKE MY GIRLFRIENDS HEART!" Tears started welling up in my eyes.
"Well technically it was your choice. You could've told her what happened and she might've forgave you, but you chose to take the cowardly way out. And now you don't have her no more. So don't blame me. You should've told her before you and here got together."
