-Black Skies-

(Max's point of view)

Seeing Veronica torture Tate made me so angry. This was supposed to be a good celebration of me coming back home to Virginia and this bitch had to ruin everything. When Taytum pushed my arm off of her, I was filled with guilt because I promised her that I wouldn't let anything happen to her and I failed. So I tried to run after her, but Taytum was too fast, she got into her car and drove off. As I saw her tail lights fade away, that's when I knew Veronica was going to pay.

Running back inside my house, everyone's eyes were on me. I yelled out and told everyone to get the fuck out of my house except for Veronica. She started pulling tightly on her clothes. This girl was a complete bitch. You hurt someone that I actually care for and you try to act all slutty now after what just happened?

"Now that's she's gone, we can now get back to what we were doing, right babe?" Veronica started swaying her hips. She really thinks that I'm going to sleep with her when you just pissed me the hell off.

I stepped onto the stage and walked up to her slowly. Something inside me just wanted me to push her off the stage. "Why? Tell me why did you do that to Taytum? She didn't even bother you and you always want to start something." I started clenching my fist.

"...Because she was ruining our night." Veronica started smiling.

"There is no our, there is no us. I'm sick and tired of you trying to ruin everything for her. Maybe if you weren't such a bitch, someone would actually start liking your uncontrollable ass." (Control yourself Max.)

"Who in the hell you think you're talking to? I don't care about what I say or do to Taytum. I don't understand why you even care. You just met her yesterday and I can see she already put a spell on you." Veronica started rubbing her hands on my chest.

"Get out now!" I couldn't take it anymore. I just wanted her to leave or else. "Get the hell off of me and leave."

"Fine, you are way too over your head for Taytum. You'll see that she was a mistake." Veronica kissed my cheek and walked off.

"Taytum, I hope you're ok."

Taytum came to school the next day. Honestly, I don't know how she could've shown her face around the halls after what had happened yesterday. But that's what I like about her, she just moves on and doesn't let what happened consume her. I tried talking to Tate, but she wouldn't answer me. She would simply walk away, or even when I held her, she would push me off and leave. I was really worried about her. She wouldn't even leave the library. I heard she gathered all of her work from classes and just sat in the library doing them.

Thirty minutes before the last bell rung, I went to the library to talk to Tate. I found her sitting down at a table reading a book. She caught a glimpse of me and buried her head into the book. Walking over, I sat into a chair across from her and just stared at her. Taytum had put her glasses back on, but even with them on, she still looked beautiful like she was last night.

There was total silence until one us broke it. "What are you doing in here, Max. Can't you see that I want to be alone?"

"The problem is that I can't leave you alone, because I'm worried about you. And I feel like what happened yesterday was my fault." I looked into her pale blue eyes. I could tell she was upset.

"Worried about me? What do you think, Max? I just got dropped down on my ass last night and then you have the nerve to say you're worried about me. You know, I don't even understand why you're even here. All this time, I'm left all alone and then out of the blue you want to care for me or even about me." Tears fell down onto the book that she was reading.
