Sawada's Smile - Completed [√]

Chapter 11

The air was getting colder. It was really obvious when you can see so many people started to wear their shawl and gloves. Some were wearing earmuffs. The cherry blossom almost lost all it's leaves. Some trees already turned into brown and there were so many falling leaves everywhere around the play ground.

Still, this lady had her jogging passionately. She was wearing her pink trainers and stretched her arms once in a while. She ran through the meadows and went back to the park.

"Ojou!" Minoru called her for afar.

"I need to go somewhere, I hope you don't mind, here's the key to the house" Minoru handed her the door keys.

"Ah yeah, sure, take care okay," replied Yankumi.

Minoru walked in a haste. Yankumi stared at him smiling until he disappeared behind the cherry blossom tree.
Feeling tired and running out of breath. Yankumi finally sat down under a big tree. She took out a bottle of drink from his pocket and was about to start drinking the water when she suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked back and surprisingly all of a sudden, somebody's cold finger touched her cheek made her surprised.

She looked up to find out and shockingly widened her eyes. She knew so well whose finger that is. This tall slim figure was smiling at her, this special kinda smile she hadn't seen for a long time. The lips and the sharp glaring eyes stared at her in a particular way. The set thick eyebrows and the look in the eye she hadn't seen for so long. She couldn't say a word. She just stared back and opened wide her mouth in a surprise.

"Hisashiburi Yankumi, genki deska?" Asked the man.

"Sa…wa…da…?? OMG!!! Sawada!! Sawada!! It's you?!!"

She almost choked up and her voice was startled.
She threw her drinking bottle in happiness. She didn't realized whom she met was her student from high school. She was so happy that she actually hugged him tight.
Sawada couldn't stop her from strangling him tight. He actually almost choked and out of breath, but He's happy too. This feeling he got as Yankumi hugged him was like a wake up call for himself. Then in a silly way, she hit him hard on his arm that had made him almost fell down to the ground.

They walked slowly through the path. Some children were playing on the grass. Some girls were chatting while sitting on the bench. There were quite some few people around. But it seemed these two were enjoying their first stroll together after so many years they hadn't met each other. Yankumi couldn't stop staring at Sawada. She thought this boy he knew had turned into a very fine looking man. His porcelain skin was still shone as the sunlight hit them directly to their face. It was still the same.

He was wearing an overall coat and a shawl. His long hair was tied neatly to the back, leaving a tiny ponytail behind. However, now he had grown bigger than back in high school. His neck was sturdier and his shoulders were much broader.

"I can't believe you are actually here!" Said Yankumi excitedly.

"I can't believe it either," replied Sawada in his usual tone. Yankumi smiled.

"You never changed, the way you talk…"

"Shut up," He said seriously, but in a playful glare.

"Meeting you is like a dream," continued Yankumi.

"Really? You always look the same too," replied Sawada.

"Really??!!" Yankumi couldn't believe what Sawada told her. Behind those pair of glasses she always wore, her eyes blinked playfully.

"See, you never change," said Sawada. He stared her in an awkward way. Yankumi smiled.

As they walked through the playground Sawada explained.

"At first I thought I had lost all my buddies. I was thinking they'd never be there for me. But they surprisingly returned."

Yankumi listed to him tentatively. She looked at his face in a serious manner. She thought the way Sawada talked, it never changed.

"They're  bunch of good guys you know," replied Yankumi.

Hearing that, Sawada grinned. It was the most sincere smile he himself ever felt. All the bad thoughts he previously had about them changed to a gust of trust. Somehow he finally knew that he wasn't alone.
