"I'm gonna teach you guys how to enjoy life and get arrested for good causes!"
That's what Hunter had said. That's what Mavis had fought against only that, at the end of the day, no one really wanted to have a party at her house.
Why?! Because Mavis Mine had a certain reputation when it came to her and Hunter Jensen being in the same party.
"It's all your fault," whispered a bored Hunter as he laid on her living room couch taking almost all the space there was just so that he could annoy her more.
But Mavis didn't think so at all. It was equally Hunter and her brother's fault. Their fault and the last disastrous party they had had just a week ago.
How disastrous could it have been, right?!
The whole night had started with a stupid Cole silently sneaking into Mavis room just around midnight.
"God damn Mavis! How do you kick so hard even when you are asleep?"
Mavis had to wait for at least 45 seconds till her head was cleared and her eyes adjusted the darkness of her room.
"What the hell are you doing in my room Cole?!"
She was partly lying, only partly, she lied even to herself. She had been hoping that her brother would creep into her room and ask her the one thing she had been sleepless over a week on.
"You have to come to the party you know! It's a fu**ing goodbye party, don't you want to say goodbye to your brother?"
Cole sat at the edge of her worn-out bed as he kept rubbing his wounded arm. She hadn't meant to hurt him, but Mavis had been half asleep by the time he came to wake her up.
"What time is it? Why didn't you go without me?"
She thought Cole rolled his eyes even though she wouldn't see him very well in the darkness.
"Dad went to sleep and he put his earplugs on. It's the best time to make our escape. Also, I can't go without you!"
"Because you don't want to go without your sister or because if dad catches us he will be more lenient on you?"
This time Mavis could have sworn she saw his eyes roll even in the dim light coming from the neighboring party.
"Just put something simple on and we will leave, hurry up!"
Put something simple on, just the thing you tell to your sister while you take her to a party with drunks and people you hang out with but don't want them to look at your sister's way.
"Yeah right! Invite the sister and make her look invisible to the crowd."
But by the time she was done complaining, Cole had slipped out of her room.
She put on a pair of short jeans and kept the "I don't care" black, manly shirt she had put before going to sleep. Yes, she had already planned her invisible appearance. She had even gone to bed while wearing nude makeup and had kept her hair inside a loosely made braid so that her messy reddish hair wouldn't be so messy at the party. Till she had almost fallen asleep and scared by Cole, Mavis had been lying in the same position so that she wouldn't smear her makeup across her face and wrinkle her shirt. Mavis could have been reluctant to go to this 'Goodbye' party for her brother but she knew she would eventually say yes so, she made it her job to be prepared for it just in case a certain guy she liked would be there, not that she needed to be beautiful for him or something....
"Ready?!" Cole whispered as he reentered her room.
"How are we going to get out?" she asked for the first time as she followed him to his room.
