Mavis had always thought that, in times of need, she would be able to become a super strong woman that never fell victim to whoever was attacking her. The speeches she gave to other people whenever she talked about the power everyone possessed were based on her immense believe that she could do everything, but as she unlocked her door and lock it back up right after she was inside her house, she started trembling, fear blinding most of her senses.

She was alone, which she thought was good too because no one else would get hurt because of her, but she was scared. The look that the two boys had when following her was something she thought only superb actors who played villains had. There was a glint of madness in Elijah's eyes as he slowly walked up to her front door, his bat seemingly awkwardly positioned in his left hand but Mavis didn't want to take a chance and think he wouldn't be able to swing it when the right moment came.

Besides, the friend he had with him was quite known for his violent ways and his strong punches. With a scary looking bat he was probably someone who could break all her bones in less than 5 minutes.

"Mavis," Elijah sang behind her door as she backed away into the living room still not knowing what to do, "You know what to do. You should just let this happen because I won't stop until I've caused you enough pain."

Yes, Mavis repeated to herself as her erratic heartbeat was making it quite difficult to hear her own thoughts, you know what to do. And she wasn't about to open the door. Instead, she dropped her school bag on the floor and took out her cellphone.

"Do you know who is at the police station today?" Elijah talked patiently on the other side as if this was a foreplay he greatly enjoyed, "Of course you wouldn't know. But let me tell you, they won't be able to answer your phone call."

But Mavis didn't want to believe me. Polic was the one institute she always had faith on when it came to life and death situations. Everyone feared the police (which was really just the jail they feared) and even Elijah would run away if a police car was heard blaring towards her house. But as Elijah laughed behind the locked door, no one answered to Mavis.

She tried again.

"Come on Mavis, I don't have the whole day and I can hear your fear from where I stand. You can't do shit to me."

"Go away!" she yelled at him trying to stop her voice from shaking with her, trying to keep the fear at bay. "What you are doing is a crime! Even if no police answeres now, you will still get caught for this!"

"If you want to be dead yes, but I think a couple of broken bones are neither deadly or worth to die for."

But that didn't sound right to Mavis too. She took her phone again barely being able to find her contacts. She had to be able to contact someone who could help her. She would never call Justin of course. That would only harm him. Dad was too far to do anything and Lillian would never help her again.

Maybe she could call her brother. But he was the furthest person and even if he could do something it would be too late before he could do something.

She could call Hunter. He did help her last time, right?

And she did call his number as her ears stood on high alert, listening to the guys shuffling outside. She knew every second know they would lose their patience and finally attack. Now even her front door seemed to have been built out of cardboard.

Hunter didn't answer. So she called again.

"Last warning Mine before I break this house with you!" Elijah called the door his voice deeper and more impatient than ever.

She didn't have much time left. She either trusted the security of her house or she made a run for it. But both guys were stronger than her and she knew Elijah would break his arm again if it meant catching her. Where would she even go?
