Mavis waited till Hunter left both her and Lily alone. But he did not leave without kissing Lily on the cheek in such a cute way, Mavis felt like throwing up in his face.

"What is wrong with you Lil'!" Mavis exploded the moment Hunter went away from their eyesight.

"I think I'm in love," she said dreamily as if she didn't even hear her best friend or didn't see how white smoke was coming out of her ears as if a whole city was burning inside her head. "He is such a great guy isn't he?!"

"No of course not! He is a player and he is doing this just to piss me off!"

Lily's smile dropped just a little bit.

"This has nothing to do with you," she said offended, "He invited me on a date and he was flirting with me the whole time. You can't just make everything about yourself!"

Shocked, Mavis stared at her friends open-mouthed.

"What are you even saying Lil', he has been my arch enemy the moment he started leaving next door!"

"Yes, but that doesn't mean anything. You made him your enemy, he just doesn't like you around him!"

Mavis' face turned white, as she heard the sound of a sharp knife being driven on her chest by no one else than her best friend. Her best friend, that until yesterday had no problem trash-talking Hunter with her, agreeing he was the worst human being was saying these things. And now, just like all the other girls who though Mavis was deeply in love with Hunter, she thought the same.

Shortly after, Lillian left the shops, leaving Mavis alone with no way to go back home since she had refused to get a lift back with Hunter and she had no idea where the others were.

She was hurt and pissed, but as much as she hated it, she thought that maybe, Lily might have always liked Hunter and she had driven her away from him. But at the same time, Mavis was quite sure Hunter didn't like Lily because why else would he keep throwing Mavis victory grins and even rub his big leg against hers?!

Mavis cringed as she thought of it. Trying to get rid of the feelings and Hunter related thoughts she tried to call her brother.

"Heyyy..." Justin answered on the other side, "You are still alive! Hunter didn't murder you!"

"Shut up!" she snapped at him, "Where are you?!"

"Wow, cranky. I was expecting this though. And I'm home. I've been home for the last one and a half hours. Where are you? If you stay with Hunter one more hour I'll start thinking..."

But Mavis didn't need her little brother to make more comments on her and Hunter's problem so she interrupted him:

"You went home with Mrs. Jensen right?"

"Yup," Justin answered.

"Okay, I'll see you later," she ended the call right after not really wanting to tell Justin she had ended up stranded on the shopping mall after she had turned Hunter down and pissed her best friend off.

After another 30 minutes doing nothing around the mall, Mavis though about calling Lily thinking she owed her an apology. But she did need to make sure first that Hunter was into her before making the mistake to support Lily's new obsession on him. Opening her contact list, she went to the very bottom of her list finding hovering over a contact registered just by multiple devil emojis instead of a name.

That's how much she hated Hunter.

But was she ready to listen to him talk just after he had out her against her best friend? Mavis wouldn't even put it past him to have actually done just that. But for the sake of her friendship, she had no choice but to call the stupid, brainless neighbor of hers and listen to all the boasting he was going to do just to annoy her even more.
