"Lil' please call me back. I'm trying to apologize here!" Mavis whispered on the phone as she left the fifth voice message to her friend who had been ignoring her for the last two days.

As always, no matter how much she waited for a reply, there was nothing on the other side.

Mavis stared at the bare, white ceiling of her room and wondered if she ever going to get her best friend talk to her again. It was unfair for Lily to break their promise to never look Hunter's way and be mad at her for warning Lily for Hunter's real intentions. In fact, Mavis wanted to be mad at both Hunter and Lily because the first had jeopardized her friendship with Lily just to annoy her and Lily had betrayed their friendship by choosing him instead of her best friend but she couldn't be angry at anyone.

She couldn't be angry at Hunter because technically he was just being himself and flirting with a girl who should have had control over her feelings, to begin with. And she couldn't be angry at Lily too because it was normal for her to fall for a guy easily and maybe she did have a long-lasting crush on Hunter.

So it was quite selfish of Mavis to make the whole situation about herself. She had thrown Lily's feelings under the bus and that wasn't right for her to do. She could already see Lily laying on her bed being sad and worried just like Mavis was over their friendship.

But Lily shouldn't have had a crush on Hunter. Mavis had already warned her about him so many times. And she should have believed Mavis when she told Lily how Hunter was just using her.

In reality, Mavis was too sad to even be mad at anyone. She was alone and she couldn't even bring herself to do anything. The only good thing that had happened the last two days was the disappearance of Hunter from her life. Which was a good thing. It was what Mavis had hoped for and expected the moment Cole went to college. It was normal for Hunter and Mavis to not talk to each other for prolonged times and even when they did interact with each other was because of her brother or some family celebration in which they had no choice but to interact and socialize.

In a way, Hunter had been right that unfateful day he had but colored bombs in her bed; she didn't have many friends because she was lame.

But as more time passed, Mavis started getting annoyed at herself, for letting Hunter inside her head and for letting sadness to put her down like that. So, after lunch, she dressed up and decided to go and talk to Lily in person. Maybe if she went to her house and apologized in person, Lily would finally understand her concerns and forgive her.

But there was a high chance Lily would still not listen to her while she was still high on Hunter, so Mavis decided to come up with a better plan than just to try to talk sense into Lily's brain.

She decided to expose Hunter for who he really was.

Before that though, she took the two long bus rides to Lily's house, taking all the time she had to think about ways to catch Hunter with another girl to prove to Lily how little he cared about her.

When Mavis reached Lily's house, she knocked three times on the door and waited for someone to answer. In the first five minutes, no one answered the door, though Mavis did hear high pitch chuckles coming from inside. Not wanting her heart to sink even further with the though Lily was ignoring her longer than this, Mavis knocked again.

This time she only had to wait three minutes before a happy Lily opened the door while talking on the phone, immediately sobering up as she threw Mavis a weary look.

At first, Mavis was happy that the door opened for her, then she realized it had been Lily the happy person laughing inside with this weir shine in her eyes. Was she talking to Hunter?! Had she even been sad for not speaking to her best friend the last two days?!
