Jeremy and I have been together since just last summer. So, for Christmas, I want to get him something special. I wasn't in town last Christmas because I was visiting relatives back home, and all I got him was a flimsy gift card. I search the aisles of Walmart, mostly in the crafts section. He has recently picked up the hobby of arts and crafts. I thought I'd be supportive because all we do is play video games when we hang out. I want him to feel like it's okay with doing a craft or teach me how to knit, instead of playing video games all the time.
I find some yarn, some printed crafting paper, and a few paints. Like every time I go out, I always check to see if AOTD 2 is out yet. This time I wasn't disappointed, I grab a copy and head to check out. Jeremy would be very happy to receive AOTD 2.
I sat beside Jeremy in our PJ's unwrapping the gifts we got. I told my parents I'd be spending the holiday here. They weren't staying here, they went back home to visit our relatives so I'm spending the holiday with Jere-Bear and Mr. Heere.
Jeremy had his dad open his gift first. I burst into laughter when he pulled out a pair of pants. He let out a little chuckle and thanked his son. Jere smiled brightly.
"Now Michael, your turn," Mr. Heere told me as he handed me a box covered in wrapping paper."Mr. Heere, you didn't have to. Besides, I didn't get you anything..."
"You did. You gave me a happy son."
I blush and look down at the festively wrapped box and started to tear at the paper. To my surprise I unwrapped an old tattered box to a Gamecube, I opened the box and one was in there. "Wow! Thank you, thank you so much!" I looked at it from every angle I could.
"It was mine from when I was a kid. I tested it and it still works."
I thank him once more.
"Okay, Micha." Jeremy handed me a gift bag. "Open mine now."
"Nope." I reached under the tree that Jeremy and I decorated. "Not until you open yours."
He places it in front of him. "Okay." He pulls out the stuffing paper and takes out the red and blue yarn. He looks at me and opens his mouth.
"There's still more." I don't let him say a word.
He looks inside the bag and pulls out the crafting paper and the paints. He looks once more to be sure and his face lights up. "No way!" He pulls out a disc case. "AOTD 2?!"
I nod.
"I was going to get you the game, but I went out, they were sold out."
"That's why I always do my shopping early," I say with my head held high.
"Thank you, Michael!" He throws his arms around me in a hug.
I giggle and I wrap my arms around him too. "You're welcome, Jere-Bear."
The unwrapping of the gifts continued. Jeremy had got me knitting needles and told me he would like to teach me. I hugged and thanked him. I'm so glad I stayed home for the holiday.
