fabstheweirdo and a friend of theirs did this awesome art collaboration and I think the concept was really cool and I've been running out on inspiration lately, so I decided to write a short about it. Please go check out their art (it's amazing!) in their book Musical Art Book. It's full of wonderful, emotional, cheesey, and funny art pieces with your fave characters from Be More Chill, Dear Evan Hansen, and more!

Evan was sitting at his desk writing one of his therapy notes when something fell and broke. He turned around to see a shattered lamp in the middle of his floor. It didn't look like his lamp and his lamp was sitting where it was supposed to be.
“Evan! Are you okay?” Heidi burst through his bedroom door.
“Yeah, I, I'm fine, but. I have no idea how that lamp… well. How that lamp even got here.”
Heidi looked at the broken lamp, then at Evan’s, “Huh.”
They both stared at the lamp puzzled.
“Well, I think the only thing we can do is clean it up and try to pretend this never happened,” Heidi spoke after awhile.
“O-okay,” Evan got up and looked for the vacuum in the closet.
After he got the lamp cleaned up, he stood where it had broke and looked at his starry ceiling. After a few seconds of staring at it something started to form in one of the stars.
He furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head, “What the..?”
The object disappears for a few seconds before hitting Evan in the face.
“For love of all pine trees!” Evan rubs the spot where the object landed. He looks down at it and picks it up. He holds in his hand a yo yo.
Connor’s P.o.V
“What is going on?” Connor just shoved his yo yo through his ceiling and 1) there is no hole, 2) it disappeared. He sat on his bed and stared at his ceiling. Plastic stars cover a good portion of it.
“I am so confused.”
At school Connor stood by Zoe’s locker, “I'm telling you! It's a portal to another dimension!”
“That's not very likely Connor,” Zoe spoke, “They're just plastic stars you put on your ceiling you put on when you were seven.”
“I'm not joking, Zoe! Seriously, I'll show you!”
“Connor, I'm not feeding your stupid delusions!” Zoe closes her locker and storms off.
Connor sighs and pushes himself off of the lockers and walks to class.
Connor lays himself flat on his bed and stares at the luminescent stars on his ceiling. He tilts his head and furrows his eyebrows trying to figure out how this portal works. He stares and stares and something starts to form and slip through the stars. He sits up as a piece of paper gently floats down. He struggles a bit to grab it out of the air, but he eventually takes it in his hand and reads it.
To whomever’s ceiling this came through,
I heard you talking with your friend or whoever she is to you about the stars on your ceiling. I assure you, I am from the same world as you, heck, even the same school. Oh, goodness, that sounds weird. Sorry. Um, anyway. My name is Evan and I wanted to let you know, I have your yo yo. I must say, you have a very good taste in yo yos. It works beautifully well. And the pattern is very nice too! So, um. I will return it soon enough, I'm just having too much fun with it!
Sincerely,
Me.
Connor smiles, liking this Evan already. He grabs a blank piece of paper and writes a note himself.
Dear Evan,
I'm glad you like my yo yo, but I bought that years ago and haven't used it for over a year. Feel free to keep it if you like it so much. I’m Connor and that was my sister I was talking to. I'm sure she thinks I'm even more of a lunatic now that told her I tossed my lamp and my yo yo though my ceiling. I have a question if you don’t mind answering it. Are getting my possessions through plastic, possible glow-in-the-dark, stick on stars on your ceiling?
Sincerely,
Me.
Connor folded the letter in half and stood on his bed. He took a deep breath. I hope this works. He touched the edge of the paper to his ceiling and slides it through. He let go of the breath he was hold in and sat down. “God, damn. This is real.”
Not to long after, another sheet of paper floats down from the stars.
Dear Connor,
Yes, I am getting your things from stars I stuck on when I was young. I haven't told anyone how you're getting things to me. When you through your lamp, it broke on my floor. My mother heard and came rushing in, but she doesn’t know about your yo yo or the letters. Seeing how our families would think we need mental help I we told them, we just keep this between us? Like our own little secret?
Sincerely,
Me.
Connor just wrote below, since there was enough room and he didn't plan to write much.
Dear Evan,
Sure, it can be our secret. My dinner will be ready soon and then I’m gonna go to bed, so I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Me.
As soon as he finished writing, Cynthia called Connor down for dinner.
“Coming!” He stood and quickly and gave his letter to the stars to transport it to Evan. He stood for a minute curious; wondering. Can I put my hand through? Connor pressed the palm of his hand on a star, but nothing magical happened. Just touching the roof.
“Connor!” Cynthia calls.
“I said I'm coming!” Connor yells back. He sighs and jumps off his bed to go eat dinner.
