The big day finally arrived. Gorgeous decor sit in front of thousands of chairs in the royal garden. Evan is in his bedroom pacing back and forth in his corset while Peggy struggles to get him to finish putting his dress on.
"Please, Evan. The ceremony starts in half an hour and we still have lots to do!" Peggy gave up on chasing Evan back on forth.
"I don't know if I can do this?"
"Why not?" Peggy carefully places the dress on the bed.
"I. I," Evan sighs, "I love Jared. Not Connor. And besides, Connor seems a little... stalker ish. He knows everything about me and I never told him anything about me!"
"I was told that the Prince has been pining over you for a long time. That's why he requested you to be his price."
Evan stared at her in shock.
"Now please, Prince Evan. Let me finish putting on your dress."
"How am I supposed to say no?" Evan starts pacing again.
Peggy turns around with the dress in her hands, "Evan!"
Evan sat on the stool while one of Connor's personal maids did his makeup.
Evan had to resist the urge to cry. He can't stop thinking about Jared and how much he loved him; how different he was from Connor. Jared is so sweet and so kind. Connor is too, from the time he spent with Evan, but was different. There's no spark between the two Princes. Not like he and Jared.
"Your highness," Connor's maid speaks.
"Huh?" Evan lifts his head.
"I can't do your makeup all that well when your head is down and Prince Connor wants you looking the best you can when you come down the aisle."
"Oh," Evan carefully wipes his eyes dry, "I'm sorry."
Evan paces back and forth still in his corset and Peggy lays flat on the bed completely drained from trying to get Evan's dress on him.
"Just tell me when you're done pacing."
"I may never be done."
"You'll get married in your corset then."
Evan paces for ten more minutes before he sits in a chair.
Peggy looks at him, "You ready?"
Evan looks at her confidentiality, "Yes, I am!"
Connor smiles as he says his I do's.
"And do you, Prince Evan Hansen, take Prince Connor Murphy as your wedded king?"
Evan looked out at the crowd of attendants. He spots Jared right away. He crying, not out of joy, but out of sadness. Evan could see it in his eyes even though he was far away.
"No," Evan says.
The crowd gasps.
"Evan," Connor speaks, "what do you mean "no"?"
"I will not marry you, for I love someone else," Evan looks at Jared, "I love Jared Kleinman."
"Wait! The servant boy!"
"Yes!"
Connor grabs Evan's hands, "Evan Hansen, you are not in love with a dirty, disgusting, servant boy!"
"Who are you to say who I am in love with?" Evan rips himself out of Connor's grips and runs down the aisle and Jared runs up. They meet in the middle and fireworks go off in their minds as their lips smash together. The crowd stares in awe. Queen Hansen stands and claps. Soon after everyone's clapping and cheering.
A few days later, Jared and Evan's wedding was held and Connor found someone and married them. And they lived. Happily. Ever. After.
