This one's short
Today. I'll tell him today. Michael thinks to himself while getting dressed. He puts his chest binder on and sweater. He grabs his bag and races out the door.
Michael walks to his locker and Jeremy’s there, waiting, like everyday. Michael opens his locker, “Hey, Jere-bear.”
“Hey,” Jeremy kisses Michael’s cheek.
“So, I was wondering if I could come over again today?”
“Of course, babe. Any time.”
“Okay, I love you.”
“Love you too,” Jeremy gives Michael a quick kiss on the lips before leaving to head off for his class.
Michael’s heart pounds. How am I supposed to tell him?
Michael and Jeremy walk home together. Michaels heart races a cheetah in his chest.
“You okay?” Jeremy asks, “You seem tense.”
Michael lets out a breath he didn't even know he was holding in, “No, no, I'm fine.”
“You hesitated.”
“No I didn't.”
“Baby. Just tell me the truth. I won't be mad.”
Michael takes a deep breath. “I don't know how to say this, but… I, um. Jeremy, I'm trans.”
Jeremy looks at his boyfriend, “You're… actually… a girl?”
“Yeah,” Michael Looks down.
There's a long silence.
“I don't care.”
Michael looks at Jeremy, “You don't care?”
“That your trans! Not about you! I'm so sorry! That came out wrong!”
Michael giggles, “Came out.”
“Pun not intended.”
The two laugh.
“I love you, no matter what,” Jeremy places an arm around Michael and puts his face in his cheek.
“Love you too,” Michael smiles.
