Chapter 19: Strings

(Third Person's POV)

"I won't let you touch her" Gray appeared to rescue you.

Gray looked at you and when he noticed that Katherine wasn't moving and her body was dismembered, Gray became in rage.

You saw him breathe deeply and without looking at you, he said the words that make you relief to the situation.

"Don't worry I'll defeat this guy" He said "I'll make this guy regret to what he did to you" he added.

Saying those words to you, your heart fluttered. Not knowing what the reason is, you forget about it and believed to what can Gray do.

"I believe in you" You mumbled to yourself.

"You think you can defeat me!" Heros said distastefully.

"I'll destroy all of you" He said and started to cast a spell.

"Be careful!" you shouted to Gray.

Even if Gray was not looking at you, you saw a glimpse of him smiling and he started to fight Heros.

"Ice-make sword" he cast.

"Would you like to spar with me" Gray said as his sword was pointing at Heros.

"Are you mocking me!" Heros is mad.

'He is mocking him'  you thought when you heard Gray said those words.

Instead of Heros doing the things that Gray wanted to, he used his magic to attack Gray.

"Look out!" you shouted as Heros cast his spell that almost killed Sera.

"Light of destruction, Ray of light" it was a big blast of light.

You are nervous when he cast that spell again. That would definitely kill Gray if he cannot dodge it.

"Oops" Gray said as he leaped and successfully dodged the attack.

"What the....." Heros cannot believe to what Gray just did. He jumped over his attack. It was a blast so it's only natural that it was only a one time attack.

It was like Gray was just playing at him, playing while fighting.

"I said spar not blast" He said with a mocking tone.

Heros is in rage right now. "Do you really think you could....." he didn't have a chance to complete his sentence when Gray slashed him with his ice sword.

Gray's action was so fast, even you can't keep up with it.

Heros' clothes was torn by the slash. He is now half naked.

"That didn't hit you?" Gray wondered why.

"You!" Heros was about to punch Gray but he dodged it by grabbing his hand.

"This is not a game" Gray looked at him with a serious expression.

He clenched his fist and his ice that's making a mist surrounds his clenched hand.

"This would definitely hurt" He mumbled and punched him in his stomach.

Heros groaned and fell in his knees.

Gray grabbed his hair and make him face him. Heros' stomach, where Gray punched started to built up ice in it. The ice is covering his stomach.

"If no one would ever help you in this state, your body will start to crumble when the ice successfully covered your body" Gray said to him.

Instead of getting feared by what would happen to him, Heros started to smile insanely.

"That's what you thought" And a light came out from Heros. It was so bright that your eyes can't handle it, even Gray too.

When the light disappeared, you saw Heros stood up and the ice that was about to cover his body disappeared. Gray in the situation cannot look straight because of what happened.

His eyes was damaged cause of the light Heros released.

"The situation was now flipped" Heros laughed insanely and his hands was now ready to cast a spell to Gray.

"Bye bye Icy" he said and was about to cast a spell when you saw Wendy running towards him.

"No!" without hesitation, Wendy attacked him but didn't had effect on him. The reason is he confronted Wendy's magic by his own magic.

"Another pest" He said "Then I'll start on killing you" he walked towards Wendy.

Wendy is just standing there, doing nothing. She cannot move her body, it's like something was stopping her to move.

"No!" you shouted. Heros notice you shouting but leave you alone and still walking towards Wendy.

When Heros is already in front of Wendy......

"Then goodbye" A light appeared in his hands.

"I said no!" you shouted again.

His hands is gleaming and about to attack Wendy with his magic when something stopped him and he cannot release his magic to Wendy.

"What the....." he looked at his hands and saw strings in it.

He followed the string to see who's the one who stopped it and his gaze stopped at you.

You are a bit confused but when you looked at your fingers, you saw the strings that was connected to Heros' body.

"How dare you stop me you freaking bastard!" he was angry and about to ran towards you but he cannot move cause of your strings.

"What does this mean?" you wondered.

You stood up and ran towards Wendy "I won't let you kill my friends" you said and protected Wendy.

He started to laugh, an insane laugh "You're weak, how can you protect them!"

"So you forgot about me" Gray appeared behind him.

"Even if she's weak, this little thing helped us a lot" He was talking about the string.

Even if the string was visible to the one who was connected to it, the only one who can see it was the one who will be controlled. It is not visible to other people. And even if Gray cannot see the string that stopped Heros to kill Wendy, he was still thankful to what you just did.

The string was released subconsciously.

Gray punched Heros face harder that made him unconscious.

After what Gray did, the string that was connected to him disappeared.

"I-I don't know what happened" you said to Gray.

You saw Gray snickered "It was a big help" he said and helped Wendy.

Still wondering what just happened and how you released the string that stopped Heros from moving, the fight ended without them, losing their life just to protect you. 

You felt relief when Gray successfully defeated Heros but you remembered Katherine who was killed by Heros.

"Katherine!" you ran towards where Katherine was and started to get anxious.

"Please don't leave me" you mumbled as you looked at Katherine's dismembered body.
