Chapter 31: What We Lost

Mavis can barely breath in her situation. She can see strings in her arms and legs. A part of her is slipping away, the strings want to overcome her mind, the strings is coming from you.

Katherine fell on Mavis' arms, it's now an ordinary doll. She looked at you and saw your unconscious body carried by the guardian. In this situation, Mavis is confused on how she can suffer with just the strings you put on her body, after all, she's just a spirit.

When fog is slowly getting thicker, the mysterious guy went towards Mavis and picked up Katherine in the ground. Everyone knew what is happening, Soluna is escaping again.

Gray pushed his weakened body and ran towards where you're at but he failed on catching up to you because when he finally had a chance to grab you, they disappeared leaving Gray facing the ground.

"Shit!" Gray cussed and smashed the ground with his fist.

Wendy rushed on running to Gray and healed him. While healing him, Gray can't move on to the scene earlier. If he is not distracted on defeating the guardian, can he still save you? But no one knows what will happen, this thing happened because no one expected it.

When Wendy finally healed everyone, they came back to the guild carrying the feeling of being defeated.

The only person feeling the most burden of all is Gray. Gray has this kind of responsibility over you, that's what he always thought.

"We're going to get back (y/n)" still in his angry state, he said those words to Natsu and the others.

"I can't accept it. I lose to that stupid poison that the girl spread" Natsu is grumbling.

"I got this bad feeling about this" Erza sat beside Gray and patted his back to calm him down.

"After getting (y/n), what will be their next move" Erza said thinking of what are the reason why they kidnapped you.

"Anything could be a reason" Mavis appeared with a serious look on her face "I don't have anything on my mind right now, all I could think is how strong (y/n)'s magic is" Mavis reached out to Gray and smiled at him.

"Do you know anything about her strings?" Mavis asked him.

"Huh?" Gray was confused but suddenly realized the things what Mavis is talking about.

"I heard about it when I fought to Heros, he said a string is stopping him to move" Gray said looking back at the time when Heros snapped out and pushed his anger to (y/n) who is just sitting back and watching him fight.

"Those strings are from (y/n), she's unconsciously controlling the people who is trying to hurt her companion but in my situation, because her uncontrollable magic inside her, she unpurposely gave me her strings and tried to overcome my mind" Mavis said and all of the people who heard it are stunned.

"At that moment, I thought she'll overcome my mind" Mavis is scared when she was reminded of what you did.

"All for the reason to get her back" Gray stood up and put his hands to Mavis' shoulders. She looked at her with a serious look. "We can't lose her" Mavis smiled back at him. "No worried" she put away his hands " We'll get her back"

"If you need some help, we're here to aid you" Laxus appeared in the scene.  "And if you are going to try inviting (y/n) to join the guild again, I'm going to recruit her to our group" Laxus added and said it proudly.

"Who said she's going to be in your group. She's our friend so she will be one of us" Natsu said trying to start a challenge to Laxus.

"A dumbass like you? Oh come on, she'll never be one of your groupmates" Laxus fought back.

The both of them started a small fight. Gray ignored them and went outside the guild. While walking, Juvia caught up to Gray. 

"Gray-sama" Juvia called Gray. He looked at her with a straight face, no emotions coming out.

"I-I'm sorry"  Juvia bowed down and apologized. Juvia thought it's one of her faults why you ended up being kidnapped and she's blaming herself from it.

"Juvia didn't intend to...." Gray stopped her from talking. "You don't need to apologize"

Juvia stood straight and looked at Gray. Gray smiled, a forced smile "All we gotta do now is get back what is lost, we need to rescue (y/n)" Gray said.

"J-Juvia will help" 

"Thanks" that's the only response that Juvia got from Gray and he left without saying anything to the guild.

"I need to find some information" and Gray started to search information about the guild raiders, Soluna.

"Hmmm" you slowly opened your eyes. You got up from bed and looked at your surroundings.

'This is not my house' you thought when you saw plants surrounding the place.

"W-what did happened again?" you tried to recall some of your memories of what happened when you suddenly heard a rustling sound coming from the bush.

You slowly stood up and went towards the bush without making any sounds.

"W-who's there" you called out and 2 kids came up from it.

"Lady (y/n) is finally awake" They are in joy just seeing you awake from your slumber.

"W-who are you two?" You are nervous when you asked them. 

They looked at each other and after realizing what's happening, they looked at you with a sad look on their faces.

"Don't you remember us? We are Trick and Treat" They said in unison and that's made you more confused to the situation.
