I was only sort of emotional about our last Halloween feast at Hogwarts. Sirius was totally ready to party after the feast and already stole a few cases of liquor from the Hog's Head cellar. He had been planning the giant Gryffindor party for nearly a month. He said he wanted to be remembered for his amazing parties at Hogwarts, so he was going all out.
"What do you mean you won't be there?!" Sirius exclaimed. James just explained to him he wouldn't be able to attend his party because he agreed to perform a task for the Order.
"You can always throw another party, mate," James offered. "I think Easter parties are rather spectacular."
"So, you definitely won't be there? It's going to be a lame party now," Sirius pouted. Sirius folded his arms and looked as if the whole day were ruined because his best friend couldn't attend.
"It'll be great! It's a Sirius Black party!"
"You only wanted to do this task because Lily is going," Sirius accused.
"True, but I need to take every chance I can to spend time with her!" James defended. "We only have a few months left of school, and if I don't get Lily Evans to-"
"If you don't get Lily Evans to what?" Lily asked as she walked into the conversation.
"If I, ah," James stammered. "Don't get Lily Evans to come with me on this mission I will probably fail."
"Huh," Lily shrugged. "You're a terrible liar, Potter. It is nice to hear that you need me, though. Are you ready to go?"
"Whenever you are," James smiled dreamily at her. "Padfoot, maybe I'll make it to the end of your party. Don't have too much fun without me!"
Sirius grumbled something like 'I won't' and James and Lily marched out of the Gryffindor tower together.
"They need to date already," I sighed. Sirius grunted beside me. "Stop complaining about him not coming to your party! We'll still have fun! And, did you know last year at this time you announced to our friends we were dating?"
Sirius looked up from his mourning over James' cancellation and grabbed me by the hips. I sat on his lap and wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders.
"I'm so happy I did," Sirius sighed and kissed me. He tucked a few of my dark curls behind my ear. "Happy anniversary, Lexi. I love you."
"I love you too," I whispered and slowly kissed him again. "Isn't it nice that we took the day off to have the holiday to ourselves? No Order meetings, no deadly tasks..."
"Sure," Sirius agreed. "But I'd still rather have James here with me."
Sirius started passionately kissing me, making a couple third years playing chess feel awkward and leave. Sirius didn't care who watched him snog his girlfriend.
"Can you please all stop, or get a room," Remus gagged as he entered the room. Peter followed behind him. "Wormtail and I are very sick of it."
"Remus, don't act like you and Marlene aren't just dying to snog each other's faces off," I retorted and untangled my hands from Sirius' hair. "And I've seen how you look at Mary Macdonald, Wormy."
Our two bachelor friends were both blushing. I hopped off Sirius' lap and helped him up off the couch.
"Moony," Sirius sighed. "When are you going to ask Marlene out?"
"I don't think I ever will," Remus admitted. "Too nervous."
"Guess we'll just have to wait for her to do it," I rolled my eyes. "I'll put a good word in for you, Moony, for the millionth time."
