"Werewolves," Professor White announced. "We will be reviewing werewolves today."
"Sir," Lily shyly raised her hand. "We learned about werewolves in third year. Can we discuss something like-"
"No," Professor White cut her off with a snarl. "There have been recent developments to our knowledge about werewolves, and I believe you should all be educated. The material may be on your N.E.W.T.s!"
Professor White paced in front of his board. He took out his wand and started writing in dark red letters.
"Werewolves are disgusting, terrible monsters that need to be eradicated from the wizarding community," Professor White said simply. He shot a pointed look at Remus over his shoulder. With every word, my friend seemed to sink lower in his seat. "I believe there should be a new movement to hunt all werewolves and kill them."
"Professor?" I spat. "That is a very stereotypical statement to say all werewolves are monsters, and it is incredibly unjust to murder innocent witches and wizards for a condition they can't-"
"As I was saying," Professor White cleared his throat, ignoring my statement. "Werewolves are known to be extremely dangerous and disregard the safety of others, becoming murderous animals at the time of the full moon."
"The Wolfsbane potion also prevents this from happening!" I hissed, standing up from my seat. "Werewolves are not dangerous humans! They're only dangerous if the person themselves is dangerous!"
"Miss Stryker, one hundred points from Gryffindor!" Professor White roared. "Werewolves must be purged from society! They are soulless, evil, and deserve nothing but death! Supporting werewolves is directly supporting You-Know-Who!"
The class went silent and Sirius grabbed at my sleeve to get me to sit back down. Remus looked about ready to cry or throw up.
"You must know a lot about that," Sirius muttered under his breath.
"What was that, Mr. Black?" Professor White narrowed his gaze at Sirius. Sirius shrugged. "Perhaps another one hundred points from Gryffindor will get you to answer-"
"I said," Sirius growled. "How are werewolves related to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named?"
"I'm glad you asked," Professor White declared. "The werewolves have made an alliance with You-Know-Who. You all are very intelligent seventh years who will soon be joining the work force, and I would hope you all do not support dark wizards. Similarly, I have started an organization with Ms. Dolores Umbridge at the Ministry dedicated to eradicating werewolves from the world."
I audibly groaned at the mention of my rude, sociopath of a boss at the Ministry of Magic. It didn't surprise me that she would want to ruin the lives of all werewolves. She always spoke about "half-breeds" as if they were no better than a crushed bug on the bottom of her pink heels.
"This organization has not yet been approved by the Ministry, but will soon be with a few more signatures! Any students who would like to stop You-Know-Who by destroying all of the terrible, beastly werewolves, or if you at least support what Ms. Umbridge and I are trying to accomplish, please join me at my desk for more information."
To my horror, nearly seven Ravenclaws from the dual class hopped towards the front of the classroom, eager to join his terrible cause. Mary Macdonald was the only Gryffindor to approach the desk, disgusting me. I turned around to look at Remus, who was already exiting the classroom, looking pale. Lily urgently followed just behind him.
My gaze focused on Professor White. An award-winning smile was on his handsome face, but his pearly white teeth just reminded me of a snarl.
