I hadn't seen Lily, James, or Harry in months, and I was happy about it. Every day I didn't see them meant they were hidden in their home. They were still alive and well, and Sirius' Secret Keeping seemed to be keeping it that way. That didn't mean Sirius was safe, though.

I spent most of my days worrying about Sirius. I worked long hours at the Ministry, which was one of the only places I felt safe anymore. Cassie stayed with my mother while I worked. Sirius was constantly hunted by Death Eaters whenever he went out.

I never truly asked Sirius if he was the Secret Keeper, but it was the only explanation I had for his sudden increase in danger. If I were to ask, I knew he wouldn't tell me anyways. I didn't like to discuss how his days with the Order went anymore. I learned to not ask questions when he came home covered in scratches, dirt, or completely and utterly exhausted every day. The information about the spy stopped coming to me. Sirius was still caught up on Remus.

My greatest joys came through the mail, in the form of letters from Lily Potter. I sent her pictures of Cassie and in return, I got adorable pictures of Harry.

On the day before Halloween, after a long, exciting morning at St. Mungo's, I had spectacular news I had to tell Lily in my most recent letter.

Dear Lily,

I can't believe James was trying to use potions on your pumpkin garden again! His mistake was sent to my office, as usual. Tell him he's lucky that the report was 'misplaced' again. The picture of Harry climbing the giant pumpkin was adorable, though! He's getting so big!

The Ministry has been such a bore. They give me the worst shifts. I still despise Umbridge. She gets worse by the day. I'm about to call the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures on her cats. You know I'm more of a dog person!

Speaking of dogs, Sirius has been busy. He misses working with James. He wanders around the house like a lost puppy sometimes. The work he's been doing terrifies me. I'm sure you've dealt with the same things, worrying about James and all. Sirius spends most of his time at home in the garage, working on that bike. He can't wait to show James all the improvements!

I know I've asked a few times, but have you heard from Remus at all? I want to check in on him. I hope he's doing well.

Molly Weasley visited yesterday. Her boys are such a handful! I can never tell the twins, Fred and George, apart. I am so happy Molly finally got a baby girl! Little Ginny is beautiful. She reminds me of Cassie as a baby. I can tell Molly is exhausted with seven kids. They sure are a riot! I wonder if they will have any more.

This week, I'm sending you a picture of Cassie with our potted plants. You know I always hated herbology, but as it turns out, I can grow Muggle houseplants! We planted some peace lilies, and Cassie adores them. I thought you might think the picture is funny, considering the name of the flower. Cassie likes to call the plant the "Aunt Lilies." She misses her godmother. You should hear her talk! It's amazing how much she's changed since you last saw her!

Lastly, Lily, I have wonderful news.

I am pregnant again! I found out this morning. I wanted to tell you first, I just wish I could tell you in person. I know Sirius will be so excited when he hears about it! I plan on telling him on his twenty second birthday in four days. Feel free to tell James, but I hope he can keep his mouth shut so I can surprise my husband! I'd bet my last galleon that James will be this new baby's godfather.

I hope you are having luck, if you are still trying for that second baby!

I miss you, Lily. I can't wait until we can see each other again and Harry and Cassie can play without a worry in the world. I hope you have a wonderful Halloween tomorrow! I, sadly, will be working the night shift.

Love Always,

Lexi

I sealed the letter, tucking the picture of Cassie inside. My very elderly owl, Altheda, hooted softly. She obediently flew over to the table and lifted her leg so I could tie the letter to it.

"Give this to Lily Potter, sweet girl," I cooed. I tenderly ruffled her feathers. With another hoot, Altheda flew off into the sky.

"To Aunt Lily?" Cassie piped up. She toddled over and gripped my leg.

"Yes, honey," I sighed.

I picked up Cassie and let her watch the owl fly off over the horizon. I tenderly kissed her black, curly hair. Soon, Cassie would be a big sister. Lily would be so excited about the baby too.

I couldn't wait for her next letter.
