Weeks into his FBI training programme, Stiles' professors still couldn't pronounce his name. They'd resorted to calling him 'Agent 24,' and the name stuck, since he was usually seen wearing a lacrosse jacket with his number on the back.During one class when he was close to falling asleep, the door opened and in stepped a girl he hadn't seen before but she took his breath away.
"Ah, you must be y/n," His professor said, "class— this is our new student, y/n. You can take a seat next to, um, that young fellow over there." He pointed towards the empty seat next to Stiles.
Stiles quickly moved his bags and books from the seat as you sat next to him, "hey, I'm Stiles."
"I'm y/n... but you already know that." You replied, feeling a slight blush appear on your cheeks.
He smiled before focusing back on the class, he couldn't fail this programme or his dad would be mad at him — and this was what he wanted to do for his career after all.
As weeks passed by, you both got to know each other as you worked on projects together and trained together. Although he didn't plan on developing feelings for anyone, somehow he looked forward to seeing you everyday. He began to feel bad as he thought he'd only ever love one girl and that was Lydia Martin, but that relationship didn't work out.
So he forgot about her, and for once his thoughts weren't preoccupied with daydreaming about the strawberry-blonde. He was focused on college and you.
One day you both were sent on a practice field mission, you found Stiles to look extremely hot in his FBI vest.
"Looking good, Stilinski." You said, a smirk flickering across your lips as he walked up to you wearing it.
"You don't look so bad yourself." Stiles grinned, his eyes lighting up as soon as he saw you.
"Ready to ace this mission?" You asked, being partners meant you had trust each other with everything which you made you two one of the best pairs in the programme as you'd quickly become best friends. Although there was always something else between you that everyone could sense.
"I'm always ready." He replied.
The missions were held in a large building with the sole purpose of setting up pretend missions.
You both aced the practice, so much so that the professor wanted to send you both on a real mission. The course was nearing an end, and you'd both proved yourselves to be the best on the programme.
Both of you had been briefed on the mission, and soon you were being driven to a deserted location in the middle of nowhere with a group of other FBI agents.
Stiles noticed you looked nervous and he squeezed your hand, "it'll be okay." He reassured you.
You nodded, the touch of his hand against yours made you even more nervous than you thought possible but you had no time to think about it as the car stopped and everyone piled out.
"You two check the rear of the building, we'll take the front." One of the agents instructed, walking towards the front in a crouched position.
Stiles led the way, crouching too and moving quickly. You followed, eyes darting around to check for signs of anything suspicious.
The back was clear so Stiles entered through the back door, his gun held out in front of him as he checked around the room.
"Clear." He said, gesturing for you to follow him inside.
As you checked the back rooms, everywhere was clear. Deciding to head upstairs, you crept up each step slowly, Stiles following you.
You began to turn a corner when a gun shot rang out and Stiles pulled you back behind the wall, his arm locked around your chest.
"You okay?!" He asked in a panic.
You nodded, not feeling any pain anywhere, "I'm good."
Stiles reluctantly let you go and checked around the corner, "must've been somewhere else..." he muttered.
You breathed a sigh of relief, turning around to Stiles, "you saved me."
"I heard the gunshot and my first thought was to pull you back, I couldn't let you get hurt." He admitted.
You nodded, realising it was a professional mission and you couldn't let your feelings get in the way, "thanks." You said before moving on and scouting the rest of the building.
Hearing shouts from below you both ran as fast as you could, meeting the others who'd successfully captured the person they were after.
"Anyone else back there?" One of them asked.
"Nope, he must have been alone." Stiles said.
They both nodded, heading back to the car with their captive.
Once you were back at the campus and back at your separate buildings, you stopped at your door and headed back outside to Stiles' dorm.
Your knuckles rapped on his door gently and he soon opened the door, he'd changed into an old scruffy Star Wars t-shirt and his hair was messier than usual.
"Hey." He said softly.
"Hi."
Your eyes met his, unspoken words exchanged with just a single look. He opened his door wider, you stepped forward slightly, almost hesitant as to what you were about to do.
Stiles beat you to it, cupping your cheeks with his calloused hands from handling guns constantly, his lips pressing against yours. It was as if your lips were meant to kiss his all along, stepping back into his room you wrapped your arms around his neck as he kicked his door closed.
Moving towards his bed, he lay you down and hovered above you, his lips still connected to yours as his hands roamed underneath your flimsy t-shirt.
"Are you sure—" Stiles asked as you wriggled out of your t-shirt. You responded by kissing him more.
"I'm sure."
Both of you knew you shouldn't be doing this, romantic relationships weren't exactly approved of in the programme, but you knew it would've happened eventually. Besides, the end of the programme was close and neither of you could resist any longer— you'd just have to hide it for a couple more weeks.
You successfully graduated alongside Stiles, and you headed back home with him to Beacon Hills for the summer. Although your summer seemed to last a lot longer as you couldn't find yourself wanting to leave.
Stiles asked you to stay in Beacon Hills with him, and so you did.
You stayed.
