She pulled away which left me speechless, so I just looked at her. "I'm sorry. You wanted to know what was up.. Well, now you know." I shook my head. "I don't understand." She sighed. "I've been in love with you ever since I can remember. I was acting this way because I was going to tell you, but I also didn't want to. And, being mean and hanging out with others kinda helped. I know you don't feel the same way, that's why I didn't want you to know. I didn't want to ruin our friendship." She looked at her feet and sighed. "Sorry for being so mean to you. You didn't deserve any of it." I smiled. "It's okay", I said. "I understand if you want to go. I should get back inside as well." She walked away and gave me a weak smile. I sighed.

I came back to my senses and realised what Lily had just told me. "Wait", I said. She turned around. I pulled her towards me and pressed my lips against hers.

As we pulled away, she looked at me. "What was that?" She bit her lip, trying to control herself. "I'm the one that's been in love with you since forever. I didn't expect you to feel the same way." She smiled. "Really?" I nodded. "And I took the bartending job to stay away form you. I mean, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to control myself as soon as I got drunk. I didn't want to ruin our friendship either", I said. We smiled at each other.

"So, what do we do now?", she asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "You should probably head back inside", I said. She nodded. She walked for a bit and turned around. "Are you coming?", she said reaching out her hand. I smiled and shook my head. "I should probably head home", I said. "Before I forget, this is from my parents." I reached into my bag for the present and handed it to her. "That's so sweet." She unwrapped it and took out a necklace. "This is so pretty", she said. "Well done mom and dad", I said and laughed. "Do you mind putting it on for me?", she asked smiling. I nodded and took the necklace. She turned around and put her hair up. I put on the necklace and she let her hair fall over it. "It's so pretty. I'll give them a call tomorrow", she said.

"People are waiting for you in there",  I said. "I know, but I'm not going in without you." "They'll be wondering where you are." She shrugged her shoulders. "Let them."

It was quiet for a while.

"Do you mind?", I asked taking out my pack of cigarettes. "As long as it's not going to be a bad habit." I smiled. "It won't, I promise." I lit the cigarette and took a puff. I looked at her and how the wind was blowing through her hair.

"Do you wanna get out of here?", I asked. She looked at me and smiled. "I thought you'd never ask." I grabbed her hand and pulled her with me. "Wait here."

I ran back inside the club, and to the bar.

"Do you know where Lily is?", some girls asked me. "Nope", I said and took two bottles of liquor and glasses. "Hey, you can't just take those", Max said. "Oh shut up Max", I said. On the way out, a few more people asked me where Lily was. I just brushed them off and headed for the exit. As soon as I stepped out, I saw her standing there, waiting for what was to come. I sighed and smiled to myself.

"Ready?", I asked as I walked up to her. "You did not just steal those bottles", she said. "Nope. These as well", I said holding up the glasses. "Plus, I wasn't gonna get paid anyways, so this is what they owe me." She giggled.

We got in a taxi. "Santa Monica Pier, please", I said.
