"Woah", I said as I saw Lily walking down the stairs. "You like?", she said spinning around. "I absolutely love", I said. I pulled her towards me and kissed her. I took another quick look at her. "Damn, I'm definitely the luckiest girls on earth", I said. She hid her face in her hands and just giggled. "You look pretty great yourself too", she said. I smiled. "Well thank you. Ready to go?" She nodded and grabbed her phone and keys.

We got in the car and drove to the restaurant.

"I'm so hungry", she said. "Well you better hold back because I'm not that rich", I said. "I'll do my best." I looked at her and started laughing. "You actually believe that?", I asked. She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm kidding. You can order anything you want", I said. A big smile formed on her face.

-

"How is the tuna?", I asked. "It's amazing. Want a bite?" I shook my head. "You know I hate tune." She took another bite. "More for me then."

"I wanted to talk to you about the book I've been writing", I said after a while. She looked at me and nodded. "I finished it and reread it, and I think I wanna take it to a publisher", I said. "You should totally do that", she said. "I wanted to ask if you want to read it before I take it to one." She smiled and nodded. "Definitely. Give me two days." "No, I want to actually read it. Maybe find some things that could be altered or typing mistakes. Just really take your time", I said. "Like your writing buddy?" I chuckled. "Something like that." She nodded. "I can be that", she said. "That's great. Thank you so much." "You're welcome", she said. Something about her gave me the wrong signals. "You don't have to if you don't want to." "I do want to, but why thank me? Like I wouldn't do this for you", she said. I shrugged my shoulders. "It just means a lot to me. I really want to be the best and to me, your opinion is the only one that matters to me."

"Don't get so deep into it. It's a book, and I'll read it. It's not like I'm sacrificing myself for your unborn child." I chuckled. "I know that, but to me it's a big deal. Just accept that." She just nodded and went back to her sushi.

-

"Here's the copy of the book", I said handing it to her. "It's pretty big", she said. I nodded. "Well, yeah.. it's a book."

She sat down on the couch and flipped to the first page.

After a few seconds, she looked up at me. "Leave", she said. "What?" "I can't concentrate when you're staring at me like that. Give me some space", she said. I nodded. "You're right. I'll see you later." I leaned over to kiss but she stopped me. "I need my focus. As soon as your lips touch mine, I'll completely lose it." I sighed. "Fine. Take your time!" I stepped out the door and took a deep breath, hoping she'll like it.

-

My phone rang, Lily on the caller ID. I picked up. "Okay, this book is great. I have so many questions", she started. "I can't answer those yet. They might want a sequel so I need to keep the secrets to myself." She sighed. "Not fair." I chuckled. "In all seriousness, what did you think?", I asked. "Honestly, it's one of the best book I've read. It's deep, but it still has a great storyline. I really placed myself into the characters. You gotta take this to a publisher", she said. "I'm speechless. Did you notice any typing errors or things that should be altered?" "No definitely not. I can tell you've spend a lot of time on this", she said. "I have. You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you", I said. "You're welcome babe."

"I'll call you later, I gotta do a few things", I said. "Sure. Talk to you later!" I hung up and grabbed my laptop. I opened my email and set up a new draft. I added my book to the attachments and wrote something.

"Dear Mr. Howard,

A few years ago, I started writing this book. After many, many changes, I think it's finally perfect. I'd love for you to read it, and maybe consider publishing it.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Yours sincerely,
Emma Smith."

I hit send, and waited for a reply.
