"Also, did just said you loved me?", she asked. I didn't say anything and just focused on the road. I saw her smiling in the corner of my eye. "Did you just realised that?", I asked. "No, I was just thinking about it. You sounded really sincere." I stopped at a traffic light and looked at her. "Did you think I didn't mean it?", I asked. She shook her head. "No, I mean, not really. It's just, no one's ever said that and I don't know when someone means it in the way of actually loving someone, or loving someone as a friend." I placed my hand on her thigh. "I love you. And not just in a friendly way", I said. She looked out the window. "When is someone supposed to say it back?", she asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. When you feel the same way and you're ready to tell the person." She nodded but didn't say anything. I just brushed it off and kept driving.

After a few minutes, I pulled up in her drive way. "Thanks", she said. She pecked me on the lips and got out of the car. "She didn't say it back", I thought to myself.

On the way home, it was all I could think about. Didn't she feel the same way? Isn't she ready to tell me the words? Is she afraid?

I pulled up in the drive way and got out of the car. My mom opened the front door, as if she was waiting for me. "Hey honey", she said. "Hey mom , what's up?", I asked stepping inside. She shut the door behind me. "Your dad and I have to go. Your uncle got himself into some trouble and we have to help him. Is that okay with you?", she said. I nodded. "What did he do this time?", I asked. "The usual", my dad said. "Robbing a liquor store while being drunk, damaging government properties. You know how he is", my dad said coming down the stairs. He was holding two weekend bags. I nodded. "When will it stop", I said. "Our flight leaves in 2 hours, we should get going", my dad said. "How long will you be gone?", I asked. "Two, maybe three days. We'll let you know", my mom said. I nodded. "Okay, say hi to Uncle Mike for me." My mom smiled. "Will do. We'll see you on Monday okay?", she said. "i thought you didn't know when you'll be coming back", I said. "We'll just make sure we'll be home on Monday. We'd love to have Lily over for dinner then. Will you ask her?" "Sure." She kissed my forehead and grabbed one of the bags. "See you later kiddo", my dad said. He kissed me on the top of my head. "Bye!"

They left the house, and I was once again alone. I sat down on the couch and grabbed my laptop form the side table. I'd been writing a book for over a year now. It was finished, but I was re-reading it to look for mistakes, or things to change.

I had been working on my book for over an hour. It was 5 pm, so I decided to cook myself some dinner. I checked the cabinets, nothing. "Couldn't they at least get some groceries before leaving again?", I said to myself. I grabbed my car keys from the cabinet and headed to the nearest fast food restaurant.

"Hi, can I get a cheeseburger with fries and a diet coke, please?", I said into the microphone. "One cheesburger with fries and a diet coke. Would you like to change that into a large menu for an extra 75 cents?", the lady asked. "Sure, why not." "Okay. You can head over to the next window."

After 20 minutes I got home and sat on the couch. I turned on the tv and unpacked my food. "They didn't even gave me a large menu", I said to myself. I sighed and took a bite from my burger.
