"What are you guys doin'?"

__

Theo takes quick and intimidating steps towards us but before he can get too close I let out a warning growl which makes him stop in his tracks.

"Whoa, why do I get the feeling this girl's tougher than she looks?" he asks rhetorically while holding up his arms in surrender.

"Oh you have no idea." I say with my arms crossed over my chest.

Then, Stiles chimes in as well. "Only when we let her of her leash."

I give Stiles a confused side glance. What kind of statement is that please? For now I leave it unchallenged though.

"Stiles, Alessia. Why are you so suspicious of me?"

"Because of these." Stiles hands him the documents he showed us in library earlier. "One's a speeding ticket signed by your dad eight years ago, the other one's a signature on transfer form for Beacon High. They're different."

"Huh. Yeah, they look a little different." Theo admits.

"No. They're totally different. Signed by two different people."

"So my dad's not my dad? Like he's an imposter?"

I take a step forward, my arms still crossed over my chest and I stare directly into Theo's eyes, which are really pretty by the way. "Why don't you tell us?"

He folds the documents and stares back into my eyes. "Who do you think I am?"

"I guess we have to figure that out" I say to him. The wary expression is still present on my face.

A small smirk forms on Theo's face but he turns back to Stiles and proposes to give a DNA sample to him but Stiles declines.

After a little pause, Theo starts to speak again.

"You know Stiles, I came back here for Scott. But I also came back for you. Someone like you. Someone who's willing to walk into the woods in the middle of the night to protect his friends. I don't have anyone like that. Scott does. You all do."

"I know I'm in the right place. I'm meant to be here. I'm meant to be a part of this pack."

I guess everybody is a bit taken aback by his speech and doesn't dare to say something else. A few minutes later we all start to head back and Theo's the first who starts to walk but I catch up to him.

"Theo. Please wait a moment." and that's exactly what he does. Since Stiles and Liam are out of sight now, I take that chance to talk to Theo in privat. So right now, I'm standing in front of him again.
"It seems like it's really important to you to be in Scott's pack."
I try to sound as sympathetic as possible, because I honestly mean it.

"It is. You're a werewolf too and you for sure know that lone wolfs can't survive for long. Not that you have to deal with such problems, I guess."

"And that's exactly where you're wrong." I sigh but continue nonetheless. "But I think that's a story for some other time. I wanted to talk to you because I would like to give you some advice. Don't try to be a part of the pack so desperate. You can't expect these people to trust you again, like they did many years ago. Time changes. People too. You have to earn their trust."
"You probably think right now it's very well for me to talk but you can believe me when I say I'm struggling the same way as you do. Actions speak louder than words, so maybe don't just say they can trust you but show them. For example running with two idiots into the middle of nowhere to spy on some guy."
Theo smiles at my last sentence and I'm glad I can cherish him up a bit.

Then it's his time to sigh. "Maybe you're right. And I'm willing to take actions. Let's start right now and let me drive you home, since Stiles and Liam are nowhere to be seen."

I look around and indeed they're actually gone. I don't think it would be a good idea to walk around disoriented in the woods, especially when I'm not familiar with them. Because of that matter and only because of it, I accept Theo's offer.

__

We already have driven half of the route but nobody of us said anything.
Before the awkward silence evolves even more I overcome myself and speak up.

"Thanks again, Theo. It's really nice of you to drive me home."

Even though I don't trust him 100% that doesn't mean I can't be polite.

"Anytime! You know, I thought about what you said earlier... about taking action. And I'm taking your advice really to heart. You'll see."

I give him a small smile as respond while leaning my head onto the window.

To be honest, somehow I really hope that he means it. He doesn't seem evil at all, rather friendly and accommodating. But I always have the image of the burning house in my mind. I learned of Derek's mistake as well. I mean, how could I forget when the fact that my parents are dead always reminds me of it. It's just an example for what the outcome can be if you trust the wrong people - in this case Kate Argent.
