I came back to the rooftop shortly after Theo left. I haven't lied to him when I said that I come here to order my thoughts. So I sit on one of the benches again, wrapped in a blanket and just gazing into the distance.
It feels like a wound deep inside of me is ripped open again, not that it had healed anyways.

I could really need a friend right now.

I have no chance to get any deeper into thoughts 'cause I get interrupted by the sound of gunshots somewhere nearby. But what is shocking me more is the sound of a werewolf briefly after.

I try to get there as fast as I can. Thanks to my wolf hearing I can roughly reckon the distance and for the rest I follow the smell of gunpowder.
It doesn't take me that long to reach the scenario. The first smell that hits my nostrils is blood. A lot of blood and of different people.

If I thought I was shocked earlier, I was wrong. Absolutely wrong.

"What are you doing here?"

I turn around as fast as I could, my arms up in surrender. But the fear is soon replaced by joy. Joy because it's Lydia, Malia and Kira instead of a stranger because of whom I could really get in trouble to be found like this.
"I just came here as well. I didn't do anything. I was nearby and heard gunshots, so I came to check on the situation."

At first, Lydia eyes me suspiciously but then orders one of the two girls behind her to call 911.

It doesn't take long for the police to reach the crime scene as well, Scott and Stiles included.

They came towards me. Looks of inquiry written on their face.
"Boys. Alessia." Sheriff Stilinski approaches too. "You saw this kid, Donavan. H-He wasn't like you, right?"

Scott looks at me before responding. "We don't think so."

"Unless he knows how to hide his scent. I definitely heard something. And it wasn't a sound a human can create."

"Well, human or otherwise, this kid might have just murdered his lawyer and mortally wounded two officers. We've got an APB out on him, but you think you can find him faster?"

"We try." I assure Stiles' dad.

He hands to Scott and I one walkie-talkie each. "Keep it on channel two."

We sprint away in different directions but I suddenly brake my sprint again

We sprint away in different directions but I suddenly brake my sprint again. I can sense a new smell, but on reflection it's not a new smell but actually on old scent.

I turn around once again and scan the surroundings with my eyes.
Wait! Is that Theo over there?! What is he doing here?

I'm sure that Scott can find Donavan's track without my help so I decide to creep up on Theo, keeping a good distance though.
Till now it seems like he is just watching the scenario but why didn't he just approach us?
I hide behind one of the piers as well and I'm lucky that Theo hasn't detected me yet.

"Scott, is that you?" Suddenly my walkie-talkie comes on.

'Crap!' I think to myself and hastily fiddle at some buttons in the hope of turning off the sound. But then Scott's voice appears through the equipment as well and I am forced to resign.

Arriving the others again, I glance back up to where I saw him before but Theo is nowhere to be seen anymore. I have to admit this evening I'm a bit jazzed, so maybe I just imagined his figure standing there? Could be possible, right?
At this point I realize it's the best to go home straight and finally get some sleep.

______

The next morning I was asked to meet up with Scott and his pack at one of the school buses.

"Stacy wasn't just having trouble sleeping. It was a real disorder. It was night terrors." Lydia informed us.

"Well, now she's the night terror. Especially since no one can find her." Stiles chimed in as well to which I react with a chuckle. Instantly, I receive glares by the others.

"Sorry. Go on." I try to stay serious.

"Okay, I know we're all tired and miserable." Scott looks at everyone of us but his eyes remain on Liam's friend Mason. "Expect for you."

"Oh. I'm sorry. This is all just mind-blowing."
Liam seems to be a bit embarrassed because of his friend.
"You're a kitsune." Mason points at Kira. "I don't even know what that is!"

"I'm still learning." She states.

"And you!" This time his index finger is pointed at me. "You're new. So what are you?"

"Me? I'm just a boringly normal werewolf."

"Liam, we said you could tell him. Not invite him to the inner circle." Stiles reminds Liam.

"Uh, I'm in the inner cirle?"

"No!" Liam and Stiles respond in unison.

"Can we return to our actual topic? I'm afraid we put down roots here."
To be honest I wanted to catch up on Theo before the lessons start to apologize to him. But I guess this discussion delays.

"Yes guys, back to Tracy. She's just one lone wolf. We can find her." Scott says.

"One lone serial-killing wolf." Malia corrected.

I take a second to contemplate the situation and come to the conclusion that Malia is right. Tracy could get quiet dangerous.

"Uh, she only killed one person, you know. The other two were mauled. All right, what do we do when we catch her?" Stiles asks in hope for any ideas.

"I say we put her down."
Wow. Malia is definitely a Hale. Undoubtedly.

"That would be an option." I agree with Malia. "But as Scott said before, she's a lone wolf nonetheless. And how Theo is always too pleased to remind us of, lone wolfs can't make it if their alone. Well, at least most of the time. Anyway, I assume she is one and if not, her alpha will take care of her. So I'd prefer to lean back and watch how the problem rights itself. Sounds good?"

"Totally."
Great so that's already a yes from Malia but I don't get an answer from the other guys.

"Intense." Mason commented.

Stiles lays one hand on each of Malia and I's shoulder.
"We got Derek to be a team player. We will manage to get you two to be one too."

"Guys, let's concentrate on catching her first. We'll figure out the rest later." And with that, Scott ends the meeting.
