Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen

☀︎

I woke up with a start to a sound coming from my window.

It had been three days since I'd hung out with the Losers, as they had called themselves. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and stretched, looking at the clock.

The sound came from my window again, it was a knocking sound.

3:01 am.

Shit. It was the devils hour. No fucking way I was opening that window to let the fucking demons in. I'm not that gullible.

Curiosity waved over me, and I slowly began to ease towards the window next to my bed.

"Holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck," I repeatedly murmured under my breath.

I grabbed my hairbrush and raised it above my head to strike the demon that awaited me outside of my window.

Adrenaline washed over me and I quickly opened drew my curtains in one swift motion.

I peered outside to see none other than Eddie Kaspbrak. Crouched outside my window.

I jumped at the shock of an actual figure being there, but quickly got over it when I realized it wasn't a demon coming to escort me to hell.

Eddie flashed me a sad smile.

I opened up my window, allowing him to get in.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I hissed in a low voice, trying with all my might not to wake anyone else.

Eddie frowned, "you said I could come whenever, and I'm pretty sure 3 AM falls within the time frame of 'whenever'."

I rolled my eyes, "it's okay. I just," I gazed down at my pajamas. An extremely oversized sweatshirt and my panties. I pulled the hem of my sweatshirt down as casually as I could, "I just wasn't expecting you."

He gulped back, suddenly realizing I didn't have pants on.

"Oh gosh," he mumbled, looking at my ceiling. I could tell he was trying his very best not to stare. I could hear him begin to wheeze.

"Give me one second, all right?" I said, trying to remain calm.

Eddie nodded, still looking at my ceiling. I rushed to my dresser and pulled a pair of shorts on.

"It's okay now Eddie."

"Do you usually sleep without pants on?" Eddie said though a wheeze. "Because if so, I should come here in the night more often.

I rolled my eyes at him as he searched his pocket for his inhaler.

"Well that doesn't make me want to keep sleeping without pants! I'm going to have to start wearing uncomfortable clothes at night now!"

Eddie had a smirk plasters on his face. He was still a wheezing mess and searching for his inhaler.

"Holy shit I left it at home."

I frantically ran to my bedside table, reaching for something and presenting it to him.

"M-my inhaler? Why do you have it?"
