Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Eddie dropped me off at my house, pulling out of the driveway.
When I opened the door, there sat none other than Freddie.
It was only seven thirty. The sun set early in the wintertime.
"Where were you?" he asked me stiffly.
"Hanging our with Beverly," I answered, trying to push past him.
"Bullshit. Bev doesn't have a car, and a car just dropped you off. Who were you with?"
I breathed out. Looking up at my overprotective brother.
"Eddie Kaspbrak."
He seemed taken aback, "Eddie Kaspbrak? The asthmatic kid?"
I nodded, "yeah. That one."
Freddie shrugged, "you're stronger than him. I'm okay with it."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "hey! That's not nice!"
He held up his hands defensively, "what? Like I'd think you had a thing for Eddie Kaspbrak. If it were practically anyone else I'd be upset, but I trust you two are just friends. But if he tries anything," Freddie clenched his fists, "I'll knock him out."
I rolled my eyes, walking up to my room, "good night, Freddie."
"Good night, little sis."
When I entered my room, Eileen was sitting on my bed. She never sat on my bed.
"What's up?" I asked her.
Eileen huffed, looking up at me.
"I'm mad at Kayla."
I raised an eyebrow at her, "oh? But Kayla's your best friend."
Eileen shook her head, "not anymore she isn't."
"You don't mean that. You're just mad."
Eileen stood her ground, "nope. We're not best friends anymore."
I rolled my eyes, "yes you are. What'd she even do?"
"She's dating Stevie Dare, but she knows I like Stevie Dare! He asked her out and she said yes! You can't do that to your best friend!"
I smiled, "well maybe you should let her have this one. You have plenty of guys that want to date you. Who cares about Stevie Dare?"
"I care about Stevie Dare!" Eileen wined.
"True, but you care about Kayla more. Maybe you should be happy for her."
Eileen shrugged, "I guess you're right."
I pulled her up off of my bed, "all right. Was that therapy session good enough for you Miss Eileen?"
Eileen nodded, "yep! I'll go to my room now. Thanks for listening, Brandy."
"You're welcome, Leenie."
