Eddie and I walked together to my house to get my things for school, and walked to school together.

"Bye Eddie," I called over my shoulder as I walked towards my fourth period class. If I was lucky, Freddie wouldn't notice I was gone. If I wasn't, there would have to be a lot of explaining.

Eddie waved goodbye to me and walked his own separate way.

I pushed open the door, walking towards my seat. The teacher gave me a stink eye for interrupting her and continued her lesson.

"Are you all right!?" Stan hissed under his breath.

I nodded, "my head doesn't really hurt. I felt kind of awkward waking up, though.

Stan stifled a laugh, "I bet Eddie gawked over you while you were unconscious," he teased.

"Shut up, Stan," I nudged him, "he did not!"

"Mhm. Whatever you say."

"What the fuck would he even gawk over!?" I pushed the subject. Why would he look at me? There's no way I believe he likes me. No way at all. He can do so much better than liking me.

Stan raised his eyebrows, "I bet he had like three asthma attacks and counted your freckles or something."

I blushed deeply at the thought of him hunched over, counting my freckles. I would happily let his eyes wander to any of my freckles any day. Why did he have to be so damn cute?

"Shut up, Stan. You know he didn't."

"Whatever you say."

I turned to the front of the class, ignoring Stan's response.

Slowly, the time ticked by, and it was time for fifth period. Lunch.

I started trotting towards the cafeteria when a familiar figure came up beside me.

"Hey Brandy!" said Lucas with a smile on his face.

"Well hello, Lucas." I responded, smiling back at him.

"Why weren't you here the first couple periods?" he asked.

"Oh, I got knocked out last night and didn't gain consciousness again until like second period." I said nonchalantly.

Lucas' eyes boggled, "what the heck, Brandy! That's a big deal! Are you all right!?"

I nodded, "yeah. I spent the night at Eddie's. Don't worry, he took good care of me. He's a grade A germaphobe and knows everything there is to know about fixing people up."

"Oh," Lucas said, his voice sounding less whole. "Well I'm glad you're better."

I nodded, walking into the cafeteria. I went to sit down at my spot, "bye Lucas. I'll talk to you later."

Eddie looked like he was upset. Really upset. Like he was about to punch someone.

Eddie smiled at me, "hey, Brandy. I need to go. I'll be right back."

I nodded and watched him walk out of the cafeteria. Lucas was following behind him.

Retrieving my lunchbox from my backpack, I settled into my seat and took a bite of my sandwich.
