More Than a Feeling - Boston
☀︎
It was 9:00.
Stan leaned against Bev's wall. I sat on her floor. Bev laid on her bed facing the ceiling.
"What the fuck are we gonna do?" Beverly asked, sitting up.
I shrugged, taking in the sight of my friends dull expressions. I took it fully as my responsibility to make their eyes sparkle with mischief.
"Want to play truth or dare?"
Beverly smirked at my offer, "yes."
We turned to Stan, "if we get arrested I fucking swear."
I laughed, shifting my weight so I was sitting cross legged.
"Stan," I began, " truth or dare."
Stan sighed, "truth."
"What, exactly, were you doing at Caroline's house today?"
"We were studying for a thing in French." (a/n: she can speak french, i think she's fluent)
Stan rolled his eyes, "that's for asking Miss Nosey."
Stan turned to Beverly, "truth or dare."
She smiled mischievously, "dare."
Stan thought about it.
"I dare you to run for two blocks without shoes on."
Beverly sighed, "all right. Let's go."
She ushered for us to follow her.
Beverly peeled off her woolen socks and opened the front door. She stood there for a second before bolting off into a dead sprint down the street.
The snow was thick, and she must have been freezing in the mere 20 degree weather. Her short red hair bobbed as Stan and I watched her from the front door.
"Should we-" Stan began, his sentence trailing off.
I nodded, taking off in a sprint to catch up with her. Stan took off with me.
When we reached Beverly, we were all out of breath.
"Wow, Bev. You run fast."
Beverly smirked, "thanks. Now. Brandy. Truth or dare."
I didn't even contemplate it.
"Dare!" I exclaimed with a twinkle in my eye.
My friend paused momentarily in thought.
"Take off your clothes," she began slowly, still thinking up the second part.
Oh gosh.
"Except your underwear. Making you strip naked would be torture, and I'm too nice for that."
I let out a sigh of relief.
"And go play in the snow right there."
"Okay," I began to take off my shirt, not caring much that Bev and Stan would see my underwear. It's basically like being in a bikini.
I tugged off my boots and socks, peeling my pants apart from my skin.
The cold stung my bare, pale flesh. Holy crap it was cold.
I slowly stepped into the snow.
Beverly and Stan giggled, watching me struggle.
"Haha so funny!" I snapped at them sarcastically. That just made them laugh harder.
