Baba O'Riley - The Who

☀︎

The bell rang.

I grabbed my bag, swinging it over my shoulder and walking out of fourth period math.

My hair was pulled back into a ponytail with a purple scrunchy, swaying back and forth slightly as I walked.

Turning the dials on my locker, I opened it up, retrieving my lunch.

I intended to start off towards the cafeteria, but my intentions weren't always the first thought in the minds of others.

I shut my locker door, turning to go.

A large figure stopped me, and I ran face first into it.

"Well hello, Doll," the tall boy said to me.

"Hello," I answered, trying to be polite.

"How are you today, Brandy?" he asked me.

I didn't know who this boy was, or how he knew my name. I replied anyway, mumbling towards the ground.

"I'm fine, thanks."

"Now if you'll excuse me I have to get to lunch, please."

The boy laughed, lifting my chin with his grimy finger so I was looking at him.

I shook the boy off, trying to push past him yet again.

"What's the matter?" he asked me, smirking at himself for trapping me in the situation.

I put on a brave face, looking him in the eye and mustering up all the confidence I had.

"Get our of my way, please. I'd like to go to lunch," I said as calm and firm as I could.

He chuckled lightly, "that wasn't very nice of you to say, Brandy. You've hurt my feelings!"

I held eye contact with him, "may I please go to lunch?" I said, raising u voice slightly.

"Shhhhhh," he cooed.

"Why are you yelling? Chill out, Brandy."

He rubbed his hand on my arm, but I pulled away.

Was nobody seeing this? Did nobody just care? I longed for someone to come and swoop me away, but nobody came.

"Brandy, you've been very rude to me. I was just trying to have a nice conversation with you, but you kept hurting my feelings! Now you have to make up for it."

I gave him a disgusted look, "I don't have to make up for you not letting me go to lunch!" I said, louder still.

"Shhh! You're going to cause a scene Brandy! Damn! Chill out! I've barely said four words to you and you're freaking out!"

He rolled his eyes, "you're really being very rude. Can I at least have a kiss on the cheek from you before you go to lunch?"

I stayed firm, not moving.

He grabbed my wrist.

"Please? Just one measly kiss on the cheek? A kiss never hurt anyone."

I tried to shake my hands out of his grasp, but couldn't.

Tears were beginning to brim in my eyes. I didn't want to kiss him. Why did I have to? Just because he was bigger and stronger I had to do what he said?

Bullshit.

This was all bullshit.

He lined up his cheek with my mouth and I didn't have much of a choice.
