Your Love - The Outfield

☀︎

Eddie and I arrived at the fair just as the sun began to set.

"Should we find the others?" I asked him.

Eddie shook his head, "nope. I want to play games. I'm sure they'll find us."

I smiled at him, my heart fluttering.

"All right. But you can't ride any rides because of your head."

"I wouldn't want to go on any rides anyways."

"Awww! Is Eddie scared of roller coasters?" I teased.

"No! Am not!" Eddie exclaimed, flustered as ever.

"I just don't want to hurt my head. That's all."

"All right," I smiled up at his handsome face and he smiled back down at me.

"C'mon!" I grabbed his hand and began to jog to a booth.

We spent hours playing games and laughing before we finally found our friends.

"There you are!" Beverly exclaimed.

"Wow, Eds. Did you get hit by a fucking bus or something!? You look like shit!"

Oh how I loved Richie's bluntness.

"Nice to see you too, Rich," Eddie said sarcastically.

"Are y-you all right?" Bill stepped forward, concern on his face.

Eddie nodded, "Brandy patched me up. I'm all better now."

I smiled sweetly at him and he smiled back.

"C'mon guys!" Richie exclaimed, "we've got to go! It's closing soon and we haven't ridden the Farris Wheel yet!"

I smiled widely, "I love Farris Wheels!" I turned to Eddie, excitement dancing through my sea blue eyes, "you can go on it too! It won't hurt your head or anything!"

Eddie chuckled at my excitement, "well don't be too bummed about having to ride the Farris Wheel, B."

I stuck my tongue out at his sarcasm and turned towards the Farris Wheel, starting to walk away. Beverly quickly caught up with me, we walked right in line with each other.

"Are you guys coming?" I turned around with a smirk. Beverly smiled widely at me and continued to walk.

The boys watched us walk and muttered a few words to each other before jogging to catch up to us.

"Hey Bevvy! Hi Brandy!" We both turned around to see a little curly blonde haired girl standing in front of us. Jessie Asher. The one that slapped Richie a few months back.

"Hey Jess!" I smiled at her.

The boys stayed behind us, realizing Jessie wanted to just talk to us two girls. I heard little snide complaints coming from Richie. I ignored him.

"What's up?" I asked her.

She smiled, fire and mischief in her blue green eyes.

"I'm having a small get together tonight," she said loudly, flicking her eyes towards an annoyed Richie, "and I was wondering if you two wanted to come."

I smiled at the girl. She was so... powerful.

"Why us?" Beverly asked.

"It isn't exactly a normal party. It's a badass girls get together. And you two are both totally badass women."

I automatically nodded, not even needing to look at Beverly to know her answer, "we're coming."
