sixteen

I woke up to the sound of my obnoxious alarm clock. I groaned. I hated waking up early. I'd rather sleep in until noon and watch Netflix all day. Recently I've added another hobby to my short list, hang out with my friends.

I took a shower and put some nice clothes on. Makeup made its way on my face. I made some pancakes and with every bite, my tastebuds livened.

I drove to school and met Madison at the court yard.

"Hey, Madz," I said.

"Hey. Any chance we can not go to school today? Or ever?" She asked with a smile.

"I wish."

We talked for a while until I had to get going to my class. Today was going to be a long day.

Surprisingly, Spanish and English went by quick. I practically ran out of my English class to meet Madison at the dining hall. I saw her sitting at a table already eating lunch. I sat down with her and started to eat.

"Oh, yeah. Madison, I forgot to tell you. Niall called me the other day," I said.

"Niall called you? About what? Was it about-"

"Madison, calm down," I laughed. "It was about Louis."

"What about him?" She asked.

"Remember how I said Harry and Louis don't get along?"

She nodded her head.

"Well Louis went out drinking and came back to their house drunk because of Harry."

"No way!" Madison said with widened eyes.

"Yes! It's crazy. And Niall told me he likes you."

"Oh my gosh! Caly!" she whisper yelled.

I laughed. Madison was always happy, but something about Niall made her happier than usual.

"One more thing, Harry left a note on my car saying he wants to meet up again," I said bluntly.

"Are you going to go?" she asked.

"Yeah, I think I am."

We ate as I watched Madison text Niall. I didn't interrupt because their happiness was more important than mine.

"No way," Madison said into her phone.

"What?" I asked.

Madison kept looking around. Her head was moving back and forth, left and right. She finally spotted what she was looking for and her eyes widened.

I looked over to what she was looking at when I saw it.

Madison was already running when I spotted Niall and Louis walking towards us.

Madison engulfed Niall in a hug and didn't let go for a while.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked with a smile on my face.

"What? You don't want us here?" Louis smirked.

"Of course I want my friends here! But why are you here?" I asked.

"We go here. I just never brought it up because I wanted to surprise you guys," Niall said looking at Madison.

We walked back over to where we were eating. I finished my sandwich as everyone started to talk. Gosh, I like them being here. My friends are the best thing about me.

"T-thank you guys for being my friends," I blurted out stuttering.

"Hey, Caly. We're lucky to have you as a friend too," Louis said.
