I get in the backseat of Anne's car and Harry sits with me. No one is in the front seat, but Anne doesn't seem to mind. Her car is really nice. It smells like flowers and the seats are covered in leather.
"How are you guys? Hungry?" Anne asked keeping her eyes locked on the road. As if on cue, my stomach starts to growl.
"Caly's hungry. Can we get some food?" Harry says to his mom.
"Of course. We can go eat at a place by the house. Harry and I used to go here all the time." A smile creeps on her face like she remembers how special this place was to her and her son.
I look over at Harry and he looks so uncomfortable. She smiles at me but it doesn't reach his eyes. I totally forgot that Harry's life before I met him was totally different. This is the first time he has seen his mom since he moved to LA. I can feel the awkward tension. Harry was probably a small kid when they went to this place. I really hope that Harry and Anne can repair their relationship.
I rest my head on Harry's shoulder. Suddenly, I feel so tired. Not sleeping on the flight was a bad decision. Harry must be so tired, too.
Harry kissed my forehead, so I looked at him and smiled. I leaned in to kiss him even though his mom was right there. I needed to feel his lips on mine right now.
The kiss was just a peck, but that was enough to make my insides turn. I intertwined our hands and put my head back on his shoulder. Harry's mom must have seen the sign of affection because when I looked at her. She was grinning ear to ear. I bet she's never seen her son this happy, and I love that it's all because of me.
We get to the restaurant and walk inside. It's a cute, little restaurant. The walls are gray and the booths were red. It seems like the food is good because there are so many people here.
The waiter seats us as Anne sits in front of Harry and me. Harry puts his hand on my thigh, just like in the car. Everyone orders their drinks and the waiter walks off.
"So, Caly, how are you liking the UK so far?" Anne asks me.
"Considering I've never been out of California, I love it. I can't wait to explore with Harry," I say looking at Anne then Harry. He gives my thigh a squeeze and smiles at me.
Not getting too captivated in his green eyes, I look back at Anne who has the biggest smile on her face. I can tell she hasn't smiled that big in a long time.
"You've never been out of California? Harry will have to take you all around the world then. When I was your age, I never traveled either. Then Robin came and, uh, yeah," she slowly stopped in the middle of her sentence.
I looked at Harry who looked equally as sad as Anne. I put the pieces together and concluded that Robin was Harry's stepdad that passed away. This isn't a good topic to bring up the first time I'm meeting Anne.
"I'm so sorry about Mr. Styles. He seemed like such a good man by the way Harry talks about him. I wish I could have met him," I say trying to lighten the mood.
Anne sighed, "He would have loved to meet the girl who made Harry happy."
That hit me like a truck. Would Mr. Styles have liked me? Would he have wanted to meet me? I let my curious mind wonder until Harry interrupted my thoughts.
"Caly makes me happier than I've ever been, Mum. I know Robin is looking down on us right now and I know he already loves Caly," He said looking straight into my eyes. This man always knows what to say. Harry leans into kiss me. Our lips connect just for a second and then I look over to Anne who has tears in her eyes.
The waiter brings us our drinks, interrupting the heartfelt moment, and leaves us once again. I decide to change the heavy topic before it gets awkward.
"Anne, I love your outfit." Her shirt is a gray, long sleeve shirt with ruffles on the ends of the sleeves. She has white jeans on and her shoes are cute, black boots. I admire her style.
"Thank you, Caly! Maybe we could do some shopping while you're here," she says as a question more than a statement.
"That would be amazing," I say honestly. I would love to get to know Anne more than just Harry's mom. I want to become close to her.
We order our dinner and talk the night away. We laughed and had a great time. I felt like Anne and Harry connected for the first time in a long time. I am so glad that I am a part of this new relationship between Harry and his mother.
The waiter brought us our food and soon our plates were clear. Being the gentleman that Harry is, he paid for dinner. Anne insisted that she pay, but Harry forced the waiter to take his money. Even though Anne pretended to be aggravated by Harry, I knew she felt happy that Harry has turned into this amazing person overall.
We rode in the car to Anne's house. I almost fell asleep on Harry's shoulder, but right as my eyes started to close we pulled up to the house.
I walked inside the giant house and was in awe. It was big and white inside. Everything seemed so elegant. Anne must have a lot of money to afford this.
"Baby, I'm going to bed. Come meet me there in a bit, yeah?" Harry says. I nod and kiss him longer than I should have. His lips haven't been on mine for more than a second all day, and I needed for them to connect.
Once Harry walked into a room, I walked around the house and looked at everything. There were so many family pictures and portraits. Harry looked so adorable as a child.
"This is an amazing place you have, Anne," I say looking at a picture of Anne and Mr. Styles. They both look so happy.
"Thank you, Caly." Anne says behind me looking at the same photo in my hands. "You know, you and Harry are going to be that one day."
I turn around to face the woman that just suggested Harry and I get married. My jaw fell open and my eyebrows furrowed. I didn't understand what she just said.
"W-What?" I ask. I didn't recognize my voice.
"I see the way Harry looks at you. It's the same way Robin looked at me. He's changed so much for the better and it's all because of you. You make him a better person. I can see in his eyes he wants to be with you forever."
Before I could say anything, Anne pulls me into a hug. It takes me a minute to figure out she's crying. I hug her back and hold her tight.
"Thank you for making my little boy happy again. You don't understand how much it means to me that he's here again," she cried onto my shoulder.
Tears start to come from my eyes, too. I never knew the Harry that Anne knew and I'm glad I didn't know him. I love the Harry that I know and I would do anything for him and Anne.
I let her cry onto my back until there are no more tears to be shed. She apologizes but I assure her that it is perfectly fine.
She walks me into the living room and goes into the kitchen to pour me some water. I thank her as she sits down next to me.
"Tell me about the Harry you knew," I say looking straight into her captivating eyes I have come to love.
