"I'm glad you agreed to have lunch with me," I said to my ex-best friend. I was certainly so scared to call him, but I knew that I had to.
"Yeah, I'm glad, too," Harry said being genuinely honest. The waitress came to take our drink orders and left me and Harry in silence. I needed to break this silence, but Harry did it before I.
"Louis, I'm so sorry. I know I crossed the biggest line with you and your fiance. I would do anything to take it all back," He said looking straight into my eyes. Harry has always been really good at talking to people. Except for his looks, talking is what persuaded girls to sleep with him. I know that he's changed now though. Ever since he left the UK, he hasn't been good at talking. He lost that part of him when he broke. I'm glad he had Caly there to pick up the pieces and put them back together. Maybe he does need Caly more than I do.
"I know you are. And I'm sorry about kissing Caly. I came on to her. I shouldn't have done that," I confess. I will always like Caly, but she will always love Harry. I can see how much she means to him by looking in his eyes. When I brought up Caly, his eyes lit up and shined. They are so in love and I need to respect that.
"It's okay, Louis. I'm really hoping that we can come past this and maybe be friends again?" Harry asks with high hopes. Never in my life would I thought I'd be having lunch with Harry and him asking me to be his friend again?
"I'd like that," I answer making his dimples show in a smile. Now to think of it, I've missed him. I've missed our hang outs and parties together. He was my best mate. I'm just really disappointed in myself that it took me this long to realize it.
The waitress comes back with our drinks and takes our order. Harry starts asking me questions and the conversation takes off. We talked about everything we've done since we last saw each other. We talked about so many things. I'm so glad that I can finally have this friendship back.
"You know, the night you first saw me in Caly's apartment, she said that she was going to get us back to being friends. She finally did it. Damn, that girl is persistent," Harry said smiling when he talks about Caly.
I admit there is some jealousy, but I come past that and laugh. I'll find someone else. Caly isn't the one for me.
Our food comes and our conversation dials down. We were stuffing ourselves with food because we were absolutely starving.
I pay the bill since I invited Harry. He insisted that he pay, but I gave the waitress my card before he did. I'm glad we are kind of back to the way it once was. Before everything got too complicated.
Harry and I said our goodbyes and hugged. I said we should definitely hang out soon and he agreed. This is nice.
Harry drove off, but right when I was about to get in my car someone stops me. "I'm sorry, but you left your phone," the waitress from the restaurant says.
"Thank you," I say looking down at her name tag, "Brooke." She smiled. I didn't notice how beautiful she was. She wasn't even wearing that much makeup and she was gorgeous.
"It's no problem..." She trailed off.
"Louis," I said finishing her statement. Her eyes were ocean blue and her hair brown. She must have caught me staring because he smiled at the ground and her cheeks turned red.
"Is there anyway when you get off of work, I can take you out to a different restaurant? If you would like I mean," I ask. I'm really hoping she says yes.
"Y-yeah. I would actually love that," she says getting a bit nervous.
"Can I get your number?" I ask. She asks for my phone and I immediately give it to her. She puts in her number and gives it back.
"I get off of work at four," she says walking away. She's such a tease. Her ass is nice too...
"I'll text you!" I say to her as she walks into the restaurant once more.
I immediately call Niall and tell him that I've got a date tonight and can't come watch the game with him. He interrogates me and asks me so many questions about the date.
I tell him that she's beautiful and sweet and her name is Brooke. That's basically all I know. She seems like an amazing girl though. If we don't work out, then maybe she can still be a great friend.
"I'm happy for you, Lou. Are you getting over Caly?" He asks. I don't really know the answer to that one yet. I think I am. Seeing how perfect Harry and Caly are together makes me want to get over her. I know that she deserves Harry and Harry deserves her.
"I think I am. Finally," I answer his question. I'm relieved I got that off my chest. I'm happy that I can now be around Caly and Harry without my feelings getting in the way.
"That's so great. Well have fun on your date. Maybe Madison will want to watch the game with me," he adds. Madison watching a football game? Very funny.
"Yeah, good luck with that. Speaking of her, when are you gonna put a ring on it?," I say and we both laugh.
"Don't know. Maybe soon? I don't know what Madison would want. I'm working on it though!" Niall says. He's so in love with her. There's no way he's not going to ask her to marry him.
"Alright. Bye, Ni." He say bye and I hang up ready to text the beautiful girl I just met about our wonderful date.
