March and April seemed to fly right by. Brendon turned 18, which didn't actually change all that much for any of us. Dallon had already been 18 since last May, which we found out actually on Brendon's birthday when Dallon approached him at school.

"Hey, happy birthday!" He said, picking him up in a hug and spinning him around, disorienting Brendon a bit. "Welcome to the world of 18 year olds."

"What?" I asked, looking at Dallon weird as he set Brendon back down, unaffected by lifting him off the ground so easily. "You're 18?"

"Yeah, almost 19 actually," he said, turning to his locker and opening it, acting as if this was all totally normal.

"That's bullshit," Brendon said. "There's no way you're 19, you would have been held back at some point and you're one of the smartest people I know. What's your GPA again?"

"4.0."

"Exactly," he said.

"I'm 18, you guys," he said. "It's a weird story. When I was like 5, my parents did a lot of travelling for their job, and Jordan wasn't born yet--"

"Who's Jordan?" I asked, realizing I didn't really know a whole lot about Dallon's family.

"He's my younger brother, he's 11," he explained. "His room is upstairs and he has a treehouse in the backyard that he's usually in, so he's never really around."

"I've met him once," Brendon said. "He's really annoying, no offense Dallon."

"None taken, I agree," he said. "Anyway, my parents did a lot of travelling and they couldn't take me with them so they had me stay with some relatives in Canada--"

"You lived in Canada?" Brendon and I both asked at the same time.

"Yes, would you shut up and let me finish?" he said, rolling his eyes. "I stayed with some relatives in Canada, and my parents didn't want me to start school in Canada so they had me start late in America when they moved me back when they were done travelling. They wanted another child because apparently I wasn't good enough for them."

"You're good enough for me, Dallon," Brendon said. "Why didn't you tell us about all of this before though?"

He shrugged. "Wasn't important."

"The fact that you're almost 19 is crazy," I said. "I thought you were 17 this whole time."

"Nope, you guys are all babies," he said, closing his locker. "I'm older than all of you, that's why I'm The Dad Friend."

"I feel like my whole life has been a lie now," Brendon said. "How come I didn't know all of this about you?" He lowered his voice. "I sucked your dick! I don't suck just anyone's dick!"

Dallon rolled his eyes again and walked away without saying anything else. He didn't say much to either of us for the rest of the day, despite it being Brendon's birthday. I wondered if my lack of knowledge about so much regarding his early life had offended him, so I called him that night to see if he was mad.

"Hello?" he answered the phone.

"Hi," I replied, sitting down on my bed as I waited for Brendon to let me know it was fine to come over, seeing as it was his birthday and he wanted me to come over for the night. "I was wondering if everything was okay?"

"Yeah, why?" he asked.

"Well, you just didn't say anything for the rest of the day to either of us, I worried that maybe you were offended that we didn't know those things about you, or the fact that I didn't even know you had a brother," I said.
