Josh passed me the joint we were smoking outside on his back porch and I took a decently long hit from it, and then passed it to Brendon standing next to me with an arm wrapped around my waist and his head resting on my shoulder.

Breezy and Robin were cuddled up with each other on the outdoor couch in front of us, showing a somewhat ridiculous amount of PDA. Josh and Dallon were having some conversation quietly between the two of them, and Brendon was humming softly and now playing with my hair that was still slightly caked with hairspray thanks to my mother. We'd all changed into pajamas and us girls had washed the makeup off our faces and had sobered up mostly. We found ourselves out on Josh's porch smoking and relaxing for the evening.

Brendon passed the joint to Robin, and went back to snuggling into me. I was glad for the attention, it was only about 10pm so the night was still young, and everyone was having a good time. Dallon just seemed tired, but we were all laughing still.

"What are you singing?" I asked Brendon, and he lifted his head from my shoulder to smile at me.

"Just a song I've been working on," he shrugged. "I haven't come up with a name for it or any lyrics yet, but I've got this tune in my head that I can't get out."

"I like it so far," I smiled and he leaned in and kissed me.

"Gross," Josh shoved me. "Only gay couples are allowed at this party."

"I didn't tell you?" I asked. "I have a massive penis. Brendon's a power bottom."

Brendon rolled his eyes. "I should have known that affectionate Charlie wasn't going to last long."

"Don't be a pussy," I said, pulling him into my arms and kissing his cheek. "Are you guys done smoking? I want to go inside."

"I'm done," Josh shrugged. "I'm moderately stoned, Dallon looks pretty high and Robin and Breezy are fucking baked."

"We smoked in Robin's car while we were waiting for you guys to show up here." Breezy giggled and stood up.

We went into Josh's living room and he got a couple 2 liter bottles of soda and some cups and we poured our drinks, Dallon handing me the bottle of Dr. Pepper once he'd poured his own.

"What the fuck, Charlie? How can you drink that?" Brendon watched in disgust as I poured a cup full of Dr. Pepper and took a sip?

"The fuck is that? Root beer?" I rolled my eyes.

"Only power bottoms drink root beer," Dallon replied. Brendon flipped us off.

"At least it's not Satan's Syrup." Brendon took a drink of his root beer. "What do you think, Josh? Dr. Pepper or root beer?"

Josh smiled at us. "Neither. Ginger ale is the best, Sprite if you can't get ginger ale."

"Where's your vodka, Josh?" Robin asked. "Soda is for pussies."

"You have to drive home," Josh said. "You can't drink tonight."

Robin sighed and picked up the bottle of ginger ale to pour herself some. "Guess I'm just a pussy tonight then."

"You are what you eat," Breezy winked at her and Robin smirked back.

"Oh god, please not in my house," Josh sighed, rolling his eyes.

We sat talking among each other, Brendon and I sitting on the floor, Robin and Breezy in the loveseat, and Josh on the couch with Dallon's head in his lap, eyes closed. I figured he was sleeping, curled up in his giraffe onesie while Josh played with his hair. He looked so peaceful, his face more relaxed than usual with Josh's hands running through his soft tufts of hair. I felt so bad for Dallon, knowing that he had to hide his entire relationship from his parents. I saw his eyes open slightly, and he sighed as he stared down at the ground in front of him. Dallon didn't deserve any of this. Brendon was laughing with Josh about something, but all I could think about was the fact that Dallon had to go through all of this and there was nothing I could do about it. I got up from where I was sitting on the floor and walked into Josh's kitchen, stopping and sitting on one of the bar stools and stared at the counter in front of me, enjoying the silence of the room and the soft buzz of laughter coming from the living room. I got up to get a cup, and noticed Dallon standing in the doorway for the first time. He offered me a smile, and I returned it.
