Today we went shopping around York. I went to 'The Shambles' which has no less than 3 Harry Potter shops (where I got iron on patches, laptop stickers and birthday presents for 2 of my friends*) and a cute tearoom on top of an antique shop called the 'Flax and Twine'. Alice in Wonderland-ey is the best way I can describe it with daffodils and roses in jam jars, a decoupaged staircase and French newspapers in frames on the wall. We had cream teas and current teacakes with hot chocolate (and I had elderflower pressé-so fancy)
5 pairs of aching feet, 4 full shopping bags, 3 wrong turnings, 2 homeless people and 1 monumental statue later we were walking back to our hotel ready to just flop on our beds. We had KFC for tea and slept like lions 🦁😴
