Today I went to drama club. I can't remember the name of it now (might have been sound-scapes or something). But it was basically where you obstruct the audience's ability to see the actors (weather that's turning the lights off, having the action in a different room or just having the audience face away from the actors) and telling the 'story' with sound. There can be a narrative, but it can also be a scenario, and I think it works best with a horror theme. Insane laughter, screaming, creepy imagery, silences, loud footsteps e.t.c all work really well.
I like it because it gets the audience's adrenaline going and when it finishes they are left speechless-which is really cool, especially when you had that effect on them
Anyway, sorry for basically giving you a lecture on the 'dramatic use of sound' I'll see you tomorrow (where I might write something a bit more interesting)
P.S. Happy Birthday for everyone who's birthday is the 7th February, did you know you share a birthday with Charles Dickens?
